"Are you sure about this?" Alex asked me, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
"Yes," I replied, "We should get going. I think we're already late."
Alex didn't say a word but extended his arm toward me, offering his support. "Then we'd better get started soon."
We got into the car and began our journey to the assembly in the woods. The atmosphere inside the vehicle was filled with silence, and I could sense intense anger radiating from Alex. I couldn't quite grasp what was going through his mind, but I knew deep down that whoever had crossed him would soon face the consequences.
When we arrived at our destination, the car came to a stop. Alex turned to me, his eyes now filled with a dangerous glimmer. "We're here. Ready for your debut?"
I mustered up a confident smile and raised my chin, meeting his gaze. "I'd say screw them. I'm here, and I'm going to enjoy the night with you."
