Chapter 16 - Chapter 14: break II

As everyone sat down to start eating dinner, there were many conversations going around, but if you were to listen closely, you would find that most conversations revolved around one Albus Dumbledore and Eliza Potter. Many people, specifically light-oriented families, were contemplating and rethinking their decisions to trust and blindly follow Dumbledore. The Potter's however, lost their faith in him the moment they realized it was Albus Dumbledore who had left Eliza with abusive muggles.

Once everyone finished dinner, they all looked around wondering where they would sleep if they couldn't leave the Great Hall. As if Hogwarts itself had heard their thoughts, multiple doors suddenly appeared on the walls. They all had signs on them that said 'Future', 'Gryffindor', 'Slytherin', 'Hufflepuff', 'Ravenclaw', 'Teachers', 'Visitors'. The students and staff all went to their respective rooms as everyone said goodnight to each other.

In the 'Future' rooms, they had all sat around the fireplace and just laid there relaxing before Blaise suddenly stood up. Everyone turned their heads to look at him, wondering why he just stood up, when he said, "Oh Merlin, they're going to see everything we did." Eliza just looked at him with an 'are-you-kidding-me' look and said, "Yeah, that's kind of the whole point." Blaise just looked at her like she was crazy, "Are you not worried about everything they'll find out, like I don't know JORMY?! Or how about everything else we've done that we haven't even told each other?!" Eliza tensed when he mentioned the basilisk, but relaxed knowing nobody could get into the chamber unless they were parselmouths. They all wondered what the others have done that they've never mentioned before, but other than that, they all went back to relaxing in front of the fireplace and eventually said goodnight to one another as they all went to their rooms while Draco and Astoria shared one and Daphne and Susan shared another.

In the 'Gryffindor' dorms, the Marauders, Frank Longbottom, Alice Fortescue, Lily Evans, Marlene McKinnon, Mary McDonald, and Dorcas Meadows, all congregated around one another wondering what happens in the future that they would have to change. They already knew that James and Lily were dead, but didn't know what happened to anyone else. James broke the tense silence by calling out, "Hey Lily-Flower, are you finally going to go out with me?" Everyone turned to look at him and saw that he had a shit-eating grin on his face while looking at Lily, who blushed knowing that she got with him eventually considering they had a daughter together. Sirius burst out laughing, "Well, I mean Prongs you get with her eventually. Eliza is living proof of that." Lily just blushed and rolled her eyes, but nodded once saying, "I'm giving you one chance so you better not screw it up." James just nodded, looking excited that he finally got his 'Lily-Pad'. They all calmed down and eventually Sirius asks, "Where are we in the future? How come none of us raised Eliza?" They all frowned knowing most likely that they were either dead or incapable of raising Eliza, and if that didn't scare them, they didn't know what else would. One by one, they all went to their rooms and fell asleep thinking about the future.

In the 'Slytherin' chambers, Regulus Black was thinking about his brother. He wondered if Sirius had ever regretted leaving him and that maybe this was his chance to finally reconnect with his older brother.

In the 'Teachers' quarters, many of them were glaring at a nervous Albus Dumbledore, until he couldn't take it anymore and escaped to his rooms. The four heads of houses sat around the fireplace thinking how they fucked up so badly. Slughorn was ashamed that he hadn't done anything better for his Slytherin's, Minerva was feeling terrible that she hadn't stopped the Gryffindor's bullying, Sprout was feeling guilty that she hadn't prevented her Hufflepuff's from joining in either, and Flitwick was feeling regretful for not stopping the prejudice against Slytherin's knowing full well what it was liked to be judged, being half-goblin himself. They didn't say it, but one look towards each other and they knew that they would start changing things and protect every student, not just students in their own houses.

In the 'Visitors' suites, many of the visitors had already gone to sleep but a couple of people were lingering here and there. Many of the older ones knew full well who Tom Marvolo Riddle was like, Alexander Nott, Abraxas Malfoy, Dorea Potter, Charlus Potter, and many of the Black's. The Dark Lord himself was staring at the fire with a pensive look on his face, not noticing the looks he was receiving from many of his followers. He was thinking about Eliza, and how Lady Magic thought he of all people was worthy of a soul-mate when there hadn't been a pair in centuries. He shook his head and got up and went to his rooms, leaving behind many concerned and wary faces. The people who all knew who he really was all shared a look but left it alone, knowing damn well they would probably be tortured if they spoke a word about him. Arcturus was looking sadly at his daughter Lucretia, while both Bellatrix and Narcissa were looking regretfully at their sister, watching her play with her daughter. Eventually, one after another, the sitting room cleared out as everyone went to bed to rest, in anticipation for the future.

In Eliza's rooms, she fell asleep and woke up in a familiar white Kings-Cross Station. She looked around and saw Death waiting for her so she walked to him and asked what she was doing here. Death said, "I'm just giving you a warning so you don't freak out tomorrow, but I'll be sending a couple of more people to the past. There is also a spell that I will leave by your nightstand that'll let the book read itself in the voice of the person's point of view." Eliza nodded but looked up at Death's tall figure and she couldn't help but ask, "Who will you be sending back?" Death just gave her a look but didn't tell her anything and disappeared, letting her wonder just who exactly he would be sending back.

September 2, 1976

The next morning, Eliza woke up first, and found the spell Death mentioned on her nightstand, after she got ready she knocked on her friends' doors waking them up. They all got ready and walked out of their dorms, and into the Great Hall. They saw that many adults and staff were awake but only a couple of students here and there. They went and got breakfast that the house-elves had put out and Eliza got the coffee she so desperately needed and they sat down and started eating.

Eventually the rest of the witches and wizards woke up and left their rooms to eat breakfast in the Great Hall. They all sat in their own groups eating breakfast and talking with their friends, most of them wondering what Eliza's second year was going to be like.

Eliza, herself, was currently telling her friends what Death had told her last night in her dream. Daphne asked if he told her who was going to be brought back but Eliza just shook her head with an annoyed look on her face. She showed her friends the spell that Death had left and all of them looked confused, considering they've never heard of it before, but put it off as one of Death's own spells.

James and Lily eventually sat down next to Eliza and asked what her second year was going to be like. Eliza shifted a little, and despite the fact that her face was blank, if you looked closer you could see a bit of panic in her eyes. She said to her parents, "interesting," before going back to eat her breakfast. She would never show it, but she was terrified of what her parents' reactions were going to be about who her lover/soulmate really was.

A little while later, many people had finished their breakfast and were impatiently waiting for the second book to begin. Everyone eventually got into the same seats they were sitting in yesterday and sat down waiting for the book to begin again while Eliza and her friends were waiting for the people in the future to be sent to the past. Just as McGonagall was going to say something a letter flashed in front of her and she opened it up to read out loud.

Dear Witches and Wizards,

I'm going to be sending a couple of people back into the past, so please don't freak out when they get here. The people in the future that are going to be sent here also have doubles in here so it might get a little confusing.

Death

Many of the witches and wizards looked confused at that, but Eliza perked up thinking if Tom was going to be sent back as well. She really did miss him, even if it's only been a couple of days since she went back in time. A few moments had passed and people were starting to wonder where they were when a bright light filled the hall, and five very recognizable men and one woman stood there looking extremely confused and put-out.

Narcissa Malfoy. Lucius Malfoy. Severus Snape. Sirius Black. Remus Lupin. Tom Riddle.

When Eliza saw the last person, she got a big smile on her face and got up and tackled him in a hug as they kissed. James looked outraged at the fact that his precious daughter was being corrupted, while both Remus' and Sirius' were looking slightly put-out. The future Severus was looking very frustrated considering he had been making a potion just as a light surrounded him.

Tom and Eliza finally pulled back from each other and Tom gave her a small smile and said, "Little Star."

Everyone from the past looked at the four of them in shock considering many of them could recognize who they were. Moony and Padfoot ( the past Remus and Sirius) were looking at their older counterparts with horrified faces because of how old they looked. Padfoot screamed, "PRONGS I LOOK SO OLD! WHAT HAPPENED TO MY FACE! OH MY MERLIN AND MORGANA I HAVE WRINKLES!" Sirius looked at his younger counterpart with a shocked expression on his face when he heard "prongs" and so he looked next to his younger counterpart and saw his brother in all but blood sitting there looking exactly as he did when he had died. Remus and Sirius both looked at James with teary eyes and shocked faces while Severus was looking at his sister in all but blood with a regretful face.

Draco got up to hug his parents, as the younger Lucius and Narcissa looked very shocked at how they looked. Lucius was shocked because he never thought he would show such emotion in front of everyone and Narcissa because she looked like she hadn't aged a lot.

Sirius and Remus both tackled James into a hug and started crying as James looked highly confused at what was happening. They both were hugging him, muttering apologies and saying they missed him as James just sat there in shock. Eventually they released him and someone said, "What is going on?"

Eliza turned around to face the majority of the Great Hall and Tom wrapped his arms around her waist as she said, "Well Death decided to bring six people back from the future, so if the six of you could please introduce yourself for the people who don't recognize you."

"Tom Riddle."

"Severus Snape."

"Sirius Black."

"Remus Lupin."

"Narcissa Malfoy."

"Lucius Malfoy."

The Tom Riddle ( Marvolo ) from the past looked at his older counterpart with shocked eyes because he couldn't believe how he was acting with Eliza. He had thought that he never would be able to love someone but seeing his older self look at Eliza with so much love was very disconcerting. Alexander saw this and smiled to himself knowing there was hope for his old friend after all.

Snape ( younger Severus ) and his friends were all looking at his counterpart with wide eyes seeing the exasperated look on his face but the tolerant look in his eyes. Snape could never believe that he'd be on somewhat good terms with Black and Lupin of all people but he figured something happened and they got past it. "Wow Severus, you look so old." Rabastan couldn't help but tease his friend. Snape glared at him and said, "Obviously I'm older, I wouldn't look the same after decades have passed."

James was glaring quite heavily at both Tom and Marvolo, not knowing who exactly to blame but eventually he just glared at Tom but didn't say anything seeing the loving look in both his daughter's and Tom's eyes.

They all eventually sat down and Sirius and Remus both hugged Blaise as he hugged back with a big smile on his face and Eliza and Tom sat on another couch and started cuddling, as he held her hand and played with her silky black hair. He kissed her forehead as she snuggled into him deeper and they both smiled at one another.

Draco and his parents also occupied another couch and sat there with small smiles on their faces as they looked at Tom and Eliza.

Dumbledore saw this interaction and looked very worried and shocked as well. He knew who Tom Riddle truly was and seeing him act so loving was very unsettling. He didn't think Tom had the capability to understand love, let alone actually love someone.

When McGonagall asked who wanted to read, Eliza got up and said that Death had given her a spell to make the book read by itself in the person's point of view and so McGonagall passed her the book and Eliza cast the spell. She tested it to see if it worked and after it did, she passed the book back to McGonagall to set on the Head Table as she laid back down on to Tom and laid her head on his chest.

As people got settled down the book opened itself and started reading about Eliza Potter and her friends' second year at Hogwarts.

Tom looked nervous knowing his real identity would be revealed in this book, but when Eliza grabbed his hand, knowing what he was thinking, all worries went out the window and he gave her a small kiss on her forehead.
