Chapter 15 - The crown needs an heir

The crown needs an heir.

"Nevermind. Invite her once I am back for the torturous hell." Agatha didn't argue with him. It was not like it was on Stanley to change the course of nature. Agatha knew she conceived Adrien eight months from now on. Which meant she still had eight months to take care of Edgar and the ministers. Especially Edgar.

"As you wish." Stanley nodded, "Your ladies-in-waiting in the greenhouse, waiting to meet you." Stanley continued showing her the direction towards the greenhouse.

Agatha let out an exasperated sigh and walked off to the greenhouse. Around twenty or more young noble women from the most prominent household waited there.

Agatha knew how prestigious it was to be a lady in waiting. Those women had similar experiences growing up in those noble families, taught to be someone's wife, duchess, marquess, countess, and viscountess. If she didn't marry Xavier, she would be one of those ladies.

"Your Majesty." All of them greeted her in sync as Agatha entered the place.

Agatha nodded, taking a walk through the garden, with exotic plants and fruits planted there.

"Let me introduce them to you. Your Majesty." Stanley exclaimed as Agatha walked out of the greenhouse to one of the gazebos facing the river. Agatha sat down on one of the chairs.

"Princess Rui, consort of Prince Albert." Stanley, introduced as a woman in her early twenties, walked up, giving her a greeting. Brown hair tied up into a bun, her brown eyes struck out in her pale skin and her blue dress gave her unmatchable beauty.

"Duchess Kimberly of Kingsberry, married to Duke Arthur of Kingsberry." A blonde woman in sage came up and greeted me. She seemed a bit older than Agatha and Rui, probably in her late twenties.

"Enough…" Agatha stopped Stanley from introducing any further. She already knows what's the point of doing this. None of them ever showed up once the rumour of her being abandoned by Xavier spread.

"I already know the ladies, you don't have to introduce me further. Get us some tea instead." Agatha tried to be as polite as she could.

Stanley agreed, leaving her with the ladies-in-waiting. "Please take a seat." Agatha showed them the seat, and they seated with Stanley soon bringing tea and snacks for everyone. As she talked to them, someone interrupted them.

"Come with me, we need to talk." Xavier briskly informed, grabbing her wrist and dragging her with him.

Xavier dragged her right into his room and closed the door with a thud. "What do you think you are doing, your highness?" Agatha questioned trying to be as polite as she could.

"What do you think I am doing?! Let me ask you! What were you doing in the assembly earlier!!?" Xavier burst out, glaring at her in fury.

"I thought I already made it clear there, your highness." Agatha kept her eyes lowered trying to answer his interrogation in the sanest way possible.

Xavier grasped her by the arm, and pinned her to the wall with sheer force, restraining both her arms onto the wall, as he hovered over her.

"Made it clear, you say?! How much does our life and your marriage matter to you even? Should I clap at how easily you threw it off in the name of bravery, and loyalty to Acarvia? Say something!" Xavier frustratedly screamed at her face, his face red in anger.

"You are hurting me, your majesty. Please let go of my arms." Agatha tried to break free from his grip.

"No! Answer me! Do you know how many times I told you I love you yet you put our marriage up like it was a bargain? Does it mean anything to you? Forget our marriage, let's talk about your life! How minuscule does it mean to you?"

"You want answers? Sure, let's talk about it." Agatha had enough of him questioning her. He wants answers then he shall hear those answers let him hear the truth.

Agatha pushed him away, rubbing her wrist, "Let's hear your answers first. You saw me dying in your dream on the morning of our wedding day, didn't you?" Agatha shouted, with a scoff.

Xavier was stunned by her question…that only means one thing. Did she come back too? It was not just him who did.

"Y-you… know… ?" Xavier heaved out in relief, looking at her eyes in relief and guilt. He can finally apologize to her for everything.

"Yes! I knew! Guess who killed me in that life?" Agatha chuckled seeing how he looked at her with those guilty and relieved eyes like some cold-blooded killer.

"Who?" Xavier went forward and held her shoulder curious to know who that person was. The person who caused this. Who took her away from her like that?

Agatha snarled seeing how concerned he looked. He was a good actor, "You. You killed me. You stab me right in the back. Was it fun after I died? Did you marry the princess? Sorry, I wasn't a good wife or useful to you." Xavier's jaw dropped upon hearing her allegations. His heart stopped beating.

Him… .how can he kill her. She was the love of his life. Even the thought of her dying drives him insane and she was there telling him he killed her?

"Tell me, just one thing. Why? If you had asked me to divorce, I would happily agree yet you choose to murder me, why? Was I that annoying to you? Is that how much you hated me? If you hated me so much, why did you even marry me?" Agatha pushed his chest, with every question.

Xavier was left speechless, he didn't know what gave her such an assumption. He would never do anything to hurt her, even seeing a small wound on her kills him then how can he kill her? That was absurd.
