Adeline rested her head on the window of the carriage, closing her eyes tired from the hectic evening.
"Miss?" Maya, her maid, called out. But Adeline's peaceful face remained unhinged.
"Are you asleep?" Maya asked, unsure of whether her lady had fallen asleep or was just ignoring the question Maya had.
"No, Maya. What is it?" Adeline thin brows frowned as she opened her and glanced at the maid lazily. She rested her elbow on the window sill and rested her face on her hand.
"If she knows that you…" Maya pursed her lips, afraid to blurt out the words she had in her mind.
Adeline took a quick peek at her maid and exhaled a tired sigh, "You're afraid that she might know that I am trying to get close to the queen, right?" Adeline blurted out. Maya's face turned shocked as if Adeline could read her mind.
"What she wants is Acarvia, how I get it is not the issue," Adeline answered, not waiting for Maya's response, already getting her response from Maya's expression.
