In a room at the back of the temple, Barrett approached his mother, who was seated in a humble chamber surrounded by basic and simple furnishings. Her eyes sparkled with a mix of emotions - joy at being reunited with her son and confusion brought on by her current circumstances.
"Mother, are you feeling alright?" Barrett asked with genuine concern.
His mother smiled warmly at him, but there was a lingering uncertainty in her expression. "I feel... different, my dear. It's hard to put into words, but I can't quite grasp the memories of what happened when I was... gone."
Barrett furrowed his brow, trying to understand. "You mean you don't remember anything from the time you were, well, not with us?"
She shook her head gently. "It's all a haze. I can recall some fragments, but they're like distant dreams that slip away as soon as I try to grasp them."
"It must be confusing," Barrett sympathized, sitting beside her. "I can't imagine what it's like to come back after... after death."
