Labored footsteps echoed through the opulent hallway as I slowly made my way to visit the king. The castle was a maze of grand corridors adorned with detailed tapestries and ancient paintings. The soft glow of candle sconces illuminated the way, and the scent of polished wood filled the air.
As I walked, I couldn't help but notice the exquisite craftsmanship of the castle's architecture. I would've dreamed to visit a place like this when i was an engineering student. The walls were made of smooth, pale stone, and tall arched windows allowed natural light to pour in, creating a sense of timeless elegance.
Occasional maids walked together, whispering and stealing glances in my direction. Their hushed voices stopped whenever I passed, and they curtsied respectfully. It was no secret that I had come to the palace, and my sudden appearance seemed to stir curiosity among the staff.
