A blast filled that place and there was a numbing silence. The queen mother and her sisters were blown away but only a single place was left unscathed.
Lucas held Lisa, his wings slowly unfolding as he gently lay her down.
"Don't leave me." He pleaded, his eyes begging her to be fine, for everything to be fine.
"I'm sorry." She coughed out blood, her chest tightening.
So Lilian hadn't even spent time with Lucas. This meant that it was here she died, it was that woman that killed her.
"D-don't say that, you'll be fine. I'll take you to a physician, nothing w-" He spoke quickly, the panick evident in his blue eyes. He was scared, she could see it clearly.
"Lucas." She tried to smile despite the amount of pain it caused her"I don't want to die but every beginning has an ending." She took I deep breath as it was getting harder to breathe before continuing.
"Don't blame yourself for what happened to me. You tried your best and I know in the next life, we will definitely meet again."
Lucas shook his his head" I hadn't told you yet that I love you." He whispered, pain etched in his voice.
"I love you too Lucas." Her voice was getting distant and he leaned in, his lips claiming hers in the softest way possible. Tears rolled down her cheeks and he lifted his hand, wiping it slowly.
"I want to close my eyes now." She whispered, a small smile forming on her lips as her eyes gently closed and gradually, her hand slipped out of his and fell beside her.
Thunder stroke in the sky followed by a loud rumble, lightning illuminated the clouds as a painful cry echoed around the underworld. The creatures crawled out of their hiding place to witness this rare occurrence.
Lucas held Lisa tight, his eyes flashed and turned black.
****
Gasp!
"Lisa!."
Lisa's eyes fluttered open and the first face she saw was Lucas. She was honestly confused.
"What's my name?." She asked Lucas who looked surprised at first but still responded.
"Lisa." He replied and she immediately wrapped her arms around his neck, tears flooding from her eyes.
"I missed you so much." She hugged him tightly and he hugged her back.
"How long had I been unconscious?." She asked him as they pulled away from the hug, her eyes searching his that assessed her.
"About five minutes."
"What!?." She exclaimed, her suprise overcoming her confusion.
"You seem different." He confessed as he gazed into her eyes. He couldn't pinpoint exactly how but something was just different about her.
She bit her lips nervously as all that she experienced hit her hard. Lucas had suffered so much and all that suffering was caused by her. As soon as she got involved in his life, things had become harder for him.
Now everything made sense.
Lilian was her.
"What happened? Did you see something?." He questioned again, this time looking more worried than curious.
"I saw-"
"This place is out of shape." They heard a voice and they both turned to see nothing at all.
Lucas frowned. He knew that voice.
"Lucas dear, you wouldn't want to keep her for so long in the cemetery in this cold. I thought I taught you better to treat ladies with care." The voice talked nonstop as it got closer to them.
"Apologies for not introducing myself earlier. My earthen name is Luther but you can also call me Lucifer the devil." A tall man with long brown hair and black eyes with the most handsome face she had ever encountered except Lucas of course.
"What are you doing here?" Lucas frowned deeply upon sighting the devil. He never came without having a motive.
"I came to invite you and the little girl over for dinner, I am sure you both are probably exhausted." He flashed them a smile which would have melted any heart but Lisa's heart already belonged to Lucas.
"No way." Lucas immediately declined and held Lisa's hand, preparing to walk away.
"Why can't we go Lucas?." Lisa asked Lucas who pressed his lips into a thin line.
"Because I don't trust the devil. Whatever he wants to get for us will always have a price." He explained.
"But it's just a harmless dinner." Lisa had no idea why she was insisting. Perhaps it was curiousity.
"Even the girl agrees." Luther pressed and Lucas finally accepted.
"Fine."
"Great! Now follow me." He waved his hand and a portal appeared which looked similar to Lucas's own.
"Ladies first." He stepped aside and Lisa glanced at Lucas first who nodded his head before she entered the portal. What she saw on the other side couldn't even be described with words.
A beautiful large black castle stood proudly in the midst of ta and defined trees that leaned on the castle like they adored it.
"Welcome to my home." The devil's voice snapped her out of her trance and she felt Lucas slip his hand inside hers before walking forward.
They were lead into the building and to the dining where they took their respective seats. The inside was even more beautiful than the outside.
"So why did you actually call us here?." Lucas looked seriously at the devil who gave him a sly smile.
"My son told me some news about Lisa here."
"You're son?." They voiced at once in complete shock and astonishment.
"Yes, I have a son. Why are you so shocked?." He chuckled and sipped his wine slowly.
"Why don't you tell them yourself." He spoke and someone walked into the dining room making Lisa hold her breath in suprise.
This was impossible.
"A pleasure to meet you again Lisa or should I say Lilian." Ezikiel said with a straight face and Lucas gave him the most shocked expression ever.
"I found out that Lisa was Lilian earlier before she came here and I couldn't let others know because it will complicated things so I met a witch that could wipe every body memory of Lillian's face and even remove the portraits of her." He informed and Lucas nodded thoughtfully.
That explained the missing space on the wall.
"I knew both of you will fa in love again as written so I just had to stay back and watch history repeat itself again but this time, with a plan B." He cracked his knuckles.
"A plan B only I is aware of." He smirked at the end.
"This is impossible." Lisa shook her head in disbelief. One shock was just coming after the other.
"What is your wife's name?." Lucas asked an expected question to the devil whose expression changes to one of grief before he regained his playful smile back.
"Rose." He replied and a glass cup shattered on the ground and everyone turned to look at Lisa who looked shacken.
"That's my mum's name."
