"I want you to be my personal maid." He revealed and Lisa gave him a hard stare before letting out a loud laugh.
If she wanted to get the flower then willingly accepting his job proposal will set her as being too desperate.
She had to act as though she didn't care working close to him at all if not he might suspect that something was going on.
"Sorry, but I'll pass." She cleaned her imaginary tears and gave him a slight bow.
"Thank you for the ice pack your Highness, since I have nothing else to do I'll be taking my leave." She rose and walked passed him before placing her hand on the door handle but froze upon hearing what he said next.
"I didn't give you permission to leave yet." His voice became cold and Lisa sensed that he was a tad bit upset.
What did she do wrong?.
"Is there anything else you have to say your Highness?." She spun to face him, her brows knitted in slight confusion.
"We have not even started the conversation." His blank face stared at hers and she let out a disbelieving sigh.
"I don't want to be your personal maid."
"I'm not giving you a choice." He gave her a quick response and she pursed her lips in annoyance.
Yes she was faking her attitude but it didn't mean she liked the way he was phrasing his words.
It was as though she was his slave.
"I have my rights your Highness. And I will choose what job I want to do." She folded her arms across her chest and gave him a stern gaze.
"Like I said, I'm not giving you a choice." His eyes flashed with something she couldn't discern.
"That is an order." His voice had a tone of finality and Lisa bowed hesitantly.
"You might be the new crown prince to others but you'll never be my prince." Her voice came out small and she felt Lucas lift up her chin to meet his gaze.
When did he get here!?.
"If it was anyone else that said that, their head will be on the floor by now but I'll let that slide until I find out who you really are." His voice was low and threatening, his ocean blue eyes holding a tinge of curiousity.
"I doubt you will." She breathed. Forcing those four words out of her mouth while directly facing Lucas.
His stare starting to awaken something deep in her which she forcefully pushed back down.
"Are you daring me brave maid?." His hand that was on her chin gripping it harder.
"If I was, would you have my head your Highness?." She said his title in a mocking tone and he chuckled at her bravery.
He really hadn't met anyone as brave as this woman that stood in front of him.
"I won't have your head but I might have something else." He said shamelessly and Lisa's face flushed immediately, loosening his grip from her chin in embarrassment and covering it up with a bow.
"Permission to leave your Highness." She tried to make her voice sound as normal as possible.
"Permission denied. You haven't accepted the job yet." He reminded and she rolled her eyes.
"You can't keep me here forever."
"You are free to leave whenever you like as long as you accept." His voice was firm and she sighed in acceptance.
"I accept now please can I go?." Her back was starting to ache her from bowing this long.
"You will start your job as my personal maid tomorrow morning. Don't be late." He warned and Lisa noted that down before lifting her head up.
"Have a good night your Highness." She turned around and opened the door, leaving quickly without waiting for his reply.
Her walk back to the maid quarters was one full with distracting thoughts. Her mother had told her that the past couldn't be changed and whatever was meant to happen will happen.
Did that mean that all she had said was actually what Lilian would have said or had said? But for a different reason?.
Her sleep that night wasn't at all peaceful. She kept on pondering on different random thoughts that kept on popping out of nowhere.
Was she going to return back to the present?
How long was she going to stay here?
Could she change the fact that Lilian would die?
After a while of her endless thoughts, she fell into a silent sleep.

"Oh my goodness! Lilian your still in bed?." Emily entered Lisa's room and shook her profusely.
She had just been passing by and the last thing she expected was to see Lilian still in bed!.
"It's too early." Lisa mumbled, her body aching from lack of sleep.
It felt like she hadn't even gotten a wink of sleep at all! This was all Lucas's fault, if he hadn't held her in his room for that long, she would have at least gotten enough sleep!.
"It's literally the middle of the afternoon!" Emily screamed and that was enough for Lisa to spring up instantly.
'Don't be late.'
Lucas's words rang in her ears and she felt the world spin around.
"Can't I just fake been sick for today?." Lisa begged Emily and Emily felt tongue tied. She didn't want to disappoint her new friend.
"I'm not sure." Emily answered meekly and Lisa sighed before getting out of bed.
This was Lucas, the punishment won't be that bad.
She hoped.
She quickly freshened up and thanked Emily for waking her up before she rushed to Lucas's room.
Running was an understatement on how she got there.
Arriving at the door, she quickly knocked while she tried to steady her chest that rose and fell involuntarily.
"Come in."
Hearing his response, she quietly came in and closed the door behind her. Whatever happened, she was going to be absolutely polite to him because she was at fault.
"Late on the first day." Was his first sentence and Lisa noticed that he was sitted on the couch with one leg crossed over the other as he sipped a red liquid in a glass cup.
"Forgive me your Highness." Lisa immediately bowed down in forgiveness as she felt the temperature in the room drop.
"What kept you late?." He didn't look at her but she could bet a million dollars that he could see exactly what she was doing.
"I overslept." She answered without adding that it was actually his fault!.
"For disobeying my first rule, you'll have to be punished."
