"For disobeying my first rule, you'll have to be punished." He told her calmly and Lisa had decided it within her that no matter what punishment he was going to give her, she was going to accept it with full responsibility.
"As you wish your Highness."
Lucas seemed slightly surprised by her diligent answers. He hadn't expected her to accept everything he was saying so obediently. Or had he misread her?.
He stood up and approached her, stopping only when he was at a foots distance away from her.
"Why are you acting obedient?." He questioned.
"I don't think I have a choice your Highness." She pressed her lips together and he studied her for a second before he walked passed her to open the door.
Assuming she was meant to follow him, she quickly sprinted after him.
Thier walk was scarily long and quiet. Along the way, he didn't say anything and Lisa felt like she was about to the sentenced to death for a crime she didn't do!.
The silence was heavy with suspense, her heart beating with an equal rythym of what was yet to come.
The path they followed told her that he was taking her to the garden and this disturbed a certain part of her mind.
Just what type of punishment was Lucas planning to give her?.
Was she going to do push-ups on the bare ground? Or worse, was she going to be fired!.
They finally arrived at the garden and the fresh breeze swept past Lisa in a cooling manner.
Maybe this punishment won't be bad after all.
"Hand pick all the tumble weeds in the garden." Lucas turned to face her and she arched a brow at his sentence.
"Excuse me? Mind giving me some information on what tumble weeds mean?."
He frowned at her rude attitude and how she didn't seem to respect him on bit"Don't forget who you are speaking with maid."
Lisa once again felt offended at how he addressed her but a promise was a promise. No matter what he said, she had to pay a deaf ear to it since she was at fault.
"Forgive me your Highness." She bowed deeply.
"Tumble weeds are particular species of weeds that if not removed appropriately, will multiply. One of the many blessings of living in the underworld." He explained and Lisa straightened her back before looking at the various varieties of plants that lay on the ground.
" So how do they look?." She asked him and he shrugged his shoulders.
"If I tell it would lessen the punishment so I'll let you find out." He replied and walked ahead but Lisa stopped him by pulling his hand.
"You can't just leave me here!." Her tone turning desperate. She didn't even know how the weed she was meant to clear looked like and neither did she know where the garden ended!.
"Why?." It was his turn to arch his brow and his question did make a lot of sense.
She wasn't related to him in anyway so he had every right to punish her this way.
"It's not my fault." She mumbled and let his hand go.
"Then who is to blame for your tardiness?."
"I don't know!." She stumped her feet on the ground and completed in a rather smaller voice
"You."
"Me? What do I have to do with you being-" He started but got cut off by Lisa who didn't even know when she spoke.
"You kept me up all night at your room your Highness, I barely had enough time sleep." She complained hysterically like a child but Lucas didn't seem apologetic.
"I apologize for taking your sleep milady." Saying that, he turned around and left despite her screaming at him to come back immediately.
"Hey! Your Highness! Come back!." She shouted but it was all in vain as he had long disappeared from her sight.
A pesperated sigh escaped her lips and she faced the plants back. This wasn't even her life yet she was living it! And if she told anyone now, they would probably think that she had totally lost her mind.
Hours. Lisa spent uncountable hours looking for that one weed and before she found it, the surroundings had started getting more dim and dimmer by the second.
Her hand was bruised and bleeding from pulling out the wrong plants and getting pricked by multiple thorns. She had lost count of how many times she pulled it out inappropriately and it doubled.
She was still picking out the weeds when a drop of water fell on her face and her heart shuddered.
It wouldn't rain now would it?.
As soon as that thought crossed her mind, the sky rumbled and heavy rain followed soon after. The wind became more chilly, as a whilstling sound sliced through the air and the trees danced in a slow melody. The thunder stroke loudly and the lighting brightened the already darkened sky.
The cold bit through Lisa's body as her clothes stuck to her like a second skin. Her teeth clattered against each other as she desperately tried to finish up and quickly leave outside.
In about an hour later, she was done and numbly stood from the ground, the nonstop rain continued pouring down heavily.
Her legs felt cramped as she nimbly walked inside the castle, trying her best not to fall down. Inside the castle appeared darker than the exterior as she couldn't even see the path that lay ahead of her.
Suddenly, someone from the shadows gripped her hand and Lisa let out a small scream but the person must have expected that because the person covered her mouth and put her hand behind her back, holding her waist from behind.
What is going on!
Was she getting kidnapped so soon!?.
She hadn't gone anywhere in life! In this life yet she was getting kidnapped!
Oh God this was not happening!.
She struggled and struggled against the kidnappers grip but the person was just too strong. She felt the wind swoop passed her face and her surroundings change to Lucas's room?.
She struggled out of the person's grip and finally she was free but something told her that the person just let her go on his own.
Turning around, she sighted Lucas who gave her quite an odd look but she had a lot of things to say to him.
"You!." She fumed. Real Lucas or not, this Lucas seemed to be getting on her nerves each time they met!.
"Yes me."
"Are you sick or something!?." Her face turned red as invisible smoke flew out of her ears and nose.
If he wanted crazy, she was going to show him crazy.
