Chapter 75 - *TAKING A BITE*

"Damn it...why is your blood so fucking sweet?" He growled.

Lisa flinched slightly when she felt him suck in a mouthful of air very close to her nape as his fingers trailed upwards on her shoulders to gently brush her skin.

Lucas seemed overally too interested in her blood today and that hadn't occurred in quite a while.

"Why is it so hard?." He clenched his jaw harshly as his gums itched, wanting to bring out his fangs and pierce through her skin.

No! He wasn't going to do that! He promised himself never to do that and he wouldn't!.

"Lucas? Are you alright?." Lisa asked when she realised that he hadn't spoken in a while. Was it still all about the blood? All the time she had spent with him she noticed that he didn't want to bite her. He had always avoided doing that and it puzzled her. Not that she wanted to be bitten but she didn't like him fighting with himself like this.

"You can bite me if you want." She suggested to him and she felt him stiffen. He pulled back as uncertainty clouded his eyes.

"You don't have to take pity on me." Gone were the emotions that surrounded him. Only a chilly feeling overcomed him.

Lisa chuckled, disbelief seeming to grow on her face. So she couldn't care for him again? What did he mean?.

"What do you mean Lucas? Can't I care for you again? Or do you also see that as pity?." She questioned him seriously, slightly confused at his sudden change in character.

"I don't need you to care for me." Saying that, he pulled away from her and stood up, keeping a foots distance away from her.

Lisa's heart squeezed. Her breath only coming out as shallow gasps. She wanted to break down, she wanted to cry but only a cracked smile formed on her lips.

She stood up and walked to him, only stopping when they were at a breath's distance, her demeanour was challenging"Tell me, why you said that."

Lucas gazed down at her slightly surprised. He didn't expect her to act like this. It was only now he realised that she had changed. She wasn't the same Lisa she knew but she had grown stronger.

"What is it that you are so scared of Lucas! Don't you trust me?." She raised her voice slightly and Lucas's surprised expression increased.

"You go out without saying a word of where you are going and I ignore that, you go out to speak to your right hand always and I ignore that, you have so many secrets and I ignore it, you don't let me out of the castle and I ignore it, now you are struggling with something so sensitive to you yet you do not trust me!" Angry tears pooled her eyes and Lucas blinked in realisation.

"I feel so left out! I feel like I'm just another pawn on this piece of chess board that you're playing! I-i feel like I don't belong here." She whispered the last part and finally the tears fell, flowing down her eyes.

"Don't you trust me Lucas?."

Lucas pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly

"I'm really sorry lisa."

"I didn't know I made you feel like that." He pulled away from the hug and wiped the tears off her cheeks gently as he gaze into her starry eyes.

"Know that I love you. And the reason why I don't tell you certain things is that I don't want you getting involved in the mess I already have myself in. I would do anything to protect you from it." He confessed and Lisa nodded her head thoughtfully.

"Don't forget your promise. You promised me that you'll take care of yourself first before worrying about me." She reminded him and he pushed a strand of her hair behind her ears.

"I won't forget. I also guess it's time I tell you why I'm so scared of biting you." He took a deep breath and avoided her gaze.

"I was cursed by a witch on one of my missions. To have an uncontrollable thirst. That means once I start, I won't stop until the person is almost dead."

Lisa gasped. Now alot of things were starting to make sense. Maybe this was also one of the reasons why Lucas loathed witches.

"What about the people you took from before?." She questioned.

"I killed them."

"But with this curse also came it's cure." He continued and Lisa's ears perked at this.

"The blood of the one whom I love will cure my uncontrollable thirst for blood." He recited the very same lines that the witch had said to him joyfully.

She knew him. She knew that his love had died and that was why she used that cure as a punishment.

"Then you need my blood more than ever now. I trust you Lucas, I know you would stop exactly when it is time."

"But I don't trust me! I can't control myself and I wouldn't live with myself if i harmed you during this lisa." He took a step away from her but she took a step forward.

"I trust you."

"I know." He sighed, frustrated."But you're sick, what celestial sai-" He tried to find a reason but Lisa cut him off.

"I'm fine Lucas, See?." She flexed her hands and he couldn't help the smile that tugged the side of his lips.

"You worry too much. Now get this over with." She nodded and he gave her a small salute which made her chuckle in a girly way..

"Yes milady."

"When it gets too much just call me, okay?." He held her hand and she nodded. Leading her to the bed, they sat down quietly and Lucas pushed her hair behind to give him a better access of her neck.

Leaning in, his lips lightly kissed her neck and she sighed, her lips parted slightly when she felt his teeth graze across her skin sensually.

His fangs elongated and he licked the spot where he was going to bite before piercing into her skin.

Lisa stiffled a scream at the sharp pain that passed through her at first but soon a strange sensation passed through her and she moaned, throwing her head back in pleasure.

Meanwhile, Lucas felt like he was in heaven. Yes this was literally heaven, he knew that her blood would be sweet but not to this extent. And the way Lisa squirmed underneath him fuelled him in a way he couldn't describe.

Lisa only came back to her senses when she saw the world spin in her eyes.

"Lucas?." She tapped his head but his face was deeply buried in her neck and it didn't seem like he was stopping anytime soon.

"Lucas!?." She called out again, slightly panicked and finally he pulled back. She watched him lick the smudge of blood off his lips as his eyes were now red in colour.

A deep colour of red.

"You did it." Her voice came out weak and he patted her head gently.

"I'm sorry that I took so much." He apologized and she smiled before her body fell on the bed tiredly.

"Go to sleep little deer." He whispered before putting her well on the bed, pulling the covers in and he stood up.

"I love you."
