"Grey!"
The supposed hellhound halted and blinked it's eyes at her. It's intelligent eyes observing the frightened figure beneath it.
The predator glint in its eyes instantly vanished and was replaced by a curious and harmless gaze. In the next second, it wagged it's tail happily and licked Lisa who was shocked by the sudden change in attitude.
Cautiously, Lisa opened her eyes and saw the hellhound bending its head to her. Unsure of what to do, Lisa hesitantly patted its head and the latter licked her hand. It's tail continually wagged happily, like a dog who just found its long lost master.
Relaxed, Lisa smiled and scratched it's ears" You really scared me there grey."
It lay on its tummy and rested its head on Lisa's lap.
"Is your name grey?" She asked it sweetly and it moved it head and barked.
"I'll take that as a yes." She patted its head once again, smiling at how soft the fur was.
While they sat on the ground, Lisa had a feeling she was forgetting something but couldn't pinpoint the exact thing.
'Oh no!' She muttered as she remembered what she forgot.
The reaper.
"Mr reaper, where are you!" She shouted and fortunately saw it coming from behind a tree, holding one of its arms and looking lost. The hand had been completely detached and Lisa wondered what in hell's name happened to it.
"Mr reaper, are you alright?" She called out gaining it's attention, it slowly moved to where she was and tilted it's head at the sight of her and the hellhound.
She giggled as she thought that if the reaper had a face it would be probably raising a brow at her.
Grey growled at the reaper and the reaper moved immediately to hide behind Lisa.
"Reapers not like hellhounds, Reapers hellhounds food." It explained hastily and Lisa's mouth formed an 'o' shape. That explained a lot.
Standing up from the ground, grey followed suit like an obedient pet, watching as she dusted the skirt of her gown.
"Okay Mr reaper, time to go. I think we have already had enough here." She turned to face the reaper so that he could do his thing.
The leaves rustled close by as the cold breeze blew harsher each passing second. She stared at the reaper waiting for it to say something but it did the exact opposite.
"So?" She asked impatiently as she didn't want to stay in this strange forest for another damn minute.
"My power isn't working."
She blinked at its response, waiting for it to call his words a joke but it did nothing of that such.
"You're kidding right?" She asked and it shook its head, making her sigh heavily whilst rubbing her hands to avoid the cold that was seeping in.
So the good news was that she was stuck in a place far away from Lucas and the bad news was that the place she was brought to was called the forest of Unknown by a reaper for who knows what and is now stuck here thanks to its powers suddenly disappearing.
"Great, so what now!?" She had a 'wonderful' army of a gigantic wolf, a powerless reaper and HER an inexperienced witch.
'What more could she ask for?' She thought sarcastically.
Somewhere, a part of her wanted Lucas to come, she wanted him to say that all he had told her was just a silly joke. But she knew he wouldn't. He didn't care.
Turning to the reaper, she looked at it in pity as it held its detached hand and stared at it.
"Let me help you with that."
She went over to it and took its hand. Surprisingly, it was oddly light in weight.
Lisa had no idea how to fix it but knew that there was a spell that could easily do that. Closing her eyes, she repeated what Celestial taught her and cleared her mind from all distracting thoughts. Then she heard it. A whisper in the wind that startled her.
Concentrating again, she put the detached hand in its joint and it fixed firmly.
She stepped back and watched the reaper happily swing it's arm. A smile made its way on her lips as she watched this little display.
"Thank you for fixing my arm" The reaper bowed slightly in appreciation.
Lisa noted that it had started speaking fluently and she was quite shocked by this revelation.
"You speak well now?" She asked it suspiciously and it nodded it's head in response.
"Yes, I think it is because I regained some of my memories."
Lisa was intrigued by the the answer as her curiousity peeked through the roof" You lost your memories?."
It started moving ahead and Lisa followed, hot on its tail while grey immediately took the lead ahead."Yes, all lower class creatures of the dead have lost their memories, but only some special ones know that they actually had memories."
They all stopped moving as Grey's ears quirked up and he growled at the distance. Lisa glanced at grey who was ferociously barking and her heart hammered uncontrollably. Something was wrong here.
Soon after, Grey barked at the ground and in an instant, a hand sprouted out the ground and held Lisa's ankle.
Lisa had the urge to scream at whoever was doing this.
Couldn't she stay one minute without been tried to be killed!?.
Back in the castle...
The whole room was cold which even Celestial could terribly feel. Everyone stood tensely and shivered at the sudden drop in temperature except Ezekiel of course.
At the corner of the room, Lucas backed them facing the wall in deep thought. Since he had entered, he hadn't spoken a word and that was enough to put anybody on the edge.
Celestial knew that it was always the calm before the big storm.
Unknown to them, Lucas held a certain piece of paper as his thumb gently carressesed it.
It was the poem which Lisa had written and he had kept it with him ever since he saw it.
'Hold on Lisa, I promise I'll find you.' A smile tugged the corner of his lips as two particular sentences greatly caught his attention.
Your Ocean eyes that I have chose
Will forever be my loving cave.
