Lucas leaned on the patio as he took another swing from the blood wine he held in his hand. He stared blankly at the half moon that peeked behind the multi-coloured clouds. His grip on the glass tightened as an unpleasant memory crossed his mind.
'I hate you!'
'I wish I never met you! I wish you were never my guardian!'
He tried to convince himself that it didn't matter, she didn't matter to him. It was all part of the plan. He had to do it for her. He had forced himself to walk away after hearing her break down behind the door and he was presently trying his hardest to stay perfectly calm without going back.
"You're quiet." Theodore stated coming from the room to stand in the patio. He had just returned from meeting Carmillia and the last thing she had done before leaving him was giving him a hot slap across his cheek. He touched his cheek lightly and winced from the pain. What a strong woman!.
Lucas chuckled softly "Aren't I always quiet Theo?."
"Not when you torture people."
"Hmm.." He hummed in response and gulped down the contents in the glass.
'Just kill me! Isn't that what you want?'
'I don't want to live anymore!.'
He unconsciously gripped the glass hard and glass in his hand broke, making the pieces to stick in hand as blood dripped down it to stain the carpeted floor.
Theodore glanced at the glass in his hand and back at Lucas that seemed angry for something in particular. He must have already done what he planned.
"What happened to you?." Ezekiel apparated in the patio and sat on one of the seats comfortably. Lucas didn't bother to turn as he didn't want to speak with him. Ezekiel Quinn as he called himself. A long time ago when they had teamed up, Ezekiel had appeared out of nowhere, claiming to want more power by teaming with them. He hadn't told them anything about himself but his race which Lucas only believed when he saw him fighting with a scythe.
Until now, Ezekiel disappeared and appeared when he feels like and Lucas didn't comment on it as he was the brain in thier group.
"Finally had a couple's fight huh?" Ezekiel mused, wanting to annoy Lucas who was ignoring him now.
"Since you had dumped her, I assume that she is free now?. You know the saying, one man's trash is another man's treasure." A small smile danced on his face when he finally saw Lucas's back stiffen.
"You wouldn't." Lucas growled.
"Do you know, ever since you had been assigned to that girl, you had lost your temper quite a number of times. Keep this up and the devil might replace you."He closed his eyes and stopped bothering Lucas who didn't say a word more.
Lucas knew it was true. Never had he suffered temper problems before but now, anything about her set him off like a flaming inferno. He had hurt her today, he saw how crushed she was. Even if he went back she wouldn't want to see him. Maybe her brother was right. A monster like him didn't deserve her. Not in this life.
'I hate you Lucas! I hate you!.'
He creased his brows as guilt dug it's way through him. He shouldn't have done that. He could have found another way but he didn't. The only option he had was the one he chose.
Suddenly, it felt like a part of him was torn and his chest ached. Lisa was in trouble!.
Without a second thought, he jumped off the patio and leaped into the second building that lead to his room.
Theodore wondered if it had something to do with Lisa so he left too. Unbothered, Ezekiel relaxed on the chair with a faint smile adorned on his face as he thought of someone in particular. What a funny creature she was.
Lucas climbed off the wide window and entered his room to see no one there. Maybe she had gone to her room.
He quickly went to her room and searched everywhere but she wasn't even there.
Following her scent from his room, he traced it to the hallway that had portraits but that was were it stopped. Her scent had disappeared right here. Lisa couldn't apparated so the only logical answer was that she had gone with someone.
A certain scent lingered in the air even though it was faint and could be mistaken for something else he knew exactly what it was.
It was a reaper.
She had left with a reaper!?. His eyes blazed in anger.
How dare Ezekiel try this stunt!.
Before this...
Lisa curled up in a ball on the cold floor as the tears had finally stop flowing down her eyes. It was either her tears had finished or she didn't even have the strength to cry again. Her eyes were swollen red and her legs were cramped up from staying in the same position for a while now.
She stared blankly at the air and wondered if she really should end her life. What difference would it make to him?.
Clumsily, she stood from the floor and walked to her table but found nothing that could kill her there. Not even a table knife.
Not having any other choice, she walked out of his room and smoothened her hair with her hand. It probably looked like a bird's nest. If she had to die the least she could do was look good for death. She walked around aimlessly as the memory of what happened continued to haunt her.
'I told you not to fall for me.'
She remembered his cold words and she laughed crazily at the air. What did she expect?. Her ever bad luck life to suddenly become fun and exciting!?. He had warned her but she didn't listen. She couldn't blame him. How she wished she never met him, maybe she would have avoided this saddening heartbreak.
To have your heart broken you have to be in love right?.
Love was not meant for someone like her, not now, not ever.
She closed her eyes and swore to herself.
'I will never fall in love again. Not with Lucas or any fucking man.'
