Chapter 29 - *SECRETS IN THE DEEP DARK DUNGEON (2)*

"Lisa, here is the dear brother of yours that you cherished so much." Lucas said pointing to the cell that layed in front of him.

Unsure of what state Alex was, she hesitantly moved forward, her hands clutching the sides of her gown nervously. Almost immediately, Lucas appeared by her side and whispered"Did you dress up for me sweetheart?."

Lisa gasped at the sudden intrusion of space but couldn't do anything as he had moved away from her a second later.

"Go on, don't be shy, he is your brother"He coaxed, lifting his hand to show her the cell he layed in.

Each step she took towards the cell echoed around the dungeon and finally she stopped right at the cell. Her brother lay on the ground breathing heavily and jerked up sensing her presence. Lisa took a step closer to the cell to get a better look at him but Alex jumped forward like a deranged animal, snarling his fangs at her angrily, forcing her to move backwards in shock.

'Was this her brother?.'

"You witch, this is all your fault!" He growled and tried pulling the bars that kept both of them apart but these cells were made specifically for situations like this.

Even though Alex stood behind the bars, fear slithered like a snake against Lisa's skin and she shivered unconsciously.

'Why was he doing this?.'

Lucas stared at Alex, more than interested in the hidden message he tried to convey." Do you care to expansiate?." He said not asking, but commanding.

"Never." Alex hissed and glared at both of them.

Lucas shook his head in pity as a daunting smile slowly made its way through his face. The temperature of the dungeon dropped and Lisa internally gulped.

"Then you leave me no choice."

As soon as those words left his mouth, Alex fell on the ground, screaming in Agony and Lisa flinched by the volume of the sound. Her heart ached as she saw her only brother suffering and she turned to Lucas to beg him to stop but when she saw him, the words seemed to have gotten stuck in her throat.

His once lively blue eyes burned with a crazy fire that danced around his eyes. He had a crooked smile on his face as he silently watched Alex that howled in pain on the floor. He hadn't even moved a finger and yet so much damage was been done to Alex.

Was he deriving pleasure from watching him suffer?.

Was this the other side of Lucas that she never knew existed?.

Was she ready to accept this side of him?.

"Stop it, please make it stop, I'll talk please." Alex cried gripping his hair on both sides.

Lucas looked at him intently but then nodded making Alex slump on the floor tiredly.

"Start speaking" Said Lucas coldly and Alex stood up immediately and started talking.

"A long time ago, there was a prophecy. A prophecy that a soul will be born with unimaginable powers. At first it was only a rumour but in time this baseless rumour, became a fact. All the different races went through great lengths to find the soul even to go to the human realm but alas their attempts were futile."

"And that lead to a lot of killings." Lucas commented thoughtfully and Alex nodded in affirmation.

"Yes. One of these races captured the Oracle, forcing her to tell them where the soul was, but even the mighty Oracle had no clue on the location of this soul. Later on, the Oracle revealed a clue to them that caused a great uproar across all the realms. The soul didn't belong to a human or demon but the vilest of all creatures. A witch. The demons were the most enraged to hear about this news as back then the strongest race was the demons and the witches having that soul in their disposal meant they could easily defeat the demons. The demons wanting that power for themselves gathered other realms and waged war against the witches. And that war hasn't ended till today."

"So what does that have to do with me?." It was Lisa that asked the question.

"Centuries ago the witches found the owner of the soul but realised the body wasn't strong enough to hold the soul and slowly the soul was ripping the person apart from the inside. The only vessel that could contain that soul was a demons body. So the witches did the best thing possible to protect the soul and thier people."

"They destroyed the vessel, and that soul currently resides in you Lisa. You have been blessed with unimaginable powers to rick havoc and doom." He ended the last part in an irritated tone.

"But I'm not a demon." Lisa whispered and Alex laughed crazily.

"You are going to die Lisa, sooner or later that soul will be the end of you!."

Lisa felt the world spinning after Alex's words and soon the floor wasn't under her feet anymore. Looking up, her eyes met a pair of concerned blue eyes and she realised she almost fainted.

'Was she really going to die?.'

"Are you alright?" He asked concernly, still holding her firmly.

"C-can we please leave and come back later?." She really needed a moment to process the fact that her death was near. Could she really believe all that Alex said, who knew if he was just trying to lead them the wrong way.

She felt the wind swoosh past her face and finally she could breath in that good fresh air. They were no longer in the dungeon but now in a garden that she met at her first time in the underworld.

Lucas gave her the space she needed and she calmly inhaled the fresh scent in the garden. She would have never expected that Lucas would be one that liked all these colourful things.

"Do you know something Lucas?" She asked and he turned to look at her.

"You are like a rose, you have prickly thorns outside yet you are beautiful in a delicate kind of way." She smiled and Lucas stared at her loss of words.
