"Do you think a demon as strong as Lucas will one day change for good and become a guardian?. No, those damn witches somehow figured out his stupid weakness!." He glared at Lisa like she was the cause of every problem in his life.
"Kiel.." Lucas warned, his blue eyes blazing with unshed fire.
Ezekiel chuckled but still continued" Your little Lucas got lured in by witches and they fucking tricked him."
Lucas clenched his hand under the table as he knew each word Kiel said was true. Something soft and warm fell on in hand and he realised that it was Lisa that placed her hand on his to comfort him and almost immediately he calmed down but the next words Kiel said made him a blazing inferno.
"Love blinded him. Those witches kidnapped her and used her as bait. Do you know the most satisfying thing, it's that the girl didn't survive it-"
In a single breath, Ezekiel crashed into the wall forcing that part of the wall to crumble apart.
Lisa blinked at Ezekiel and back at Lucas who was missing from his seat. It happened so fast that she didn't even see when he left.
Lucas held Ezekiel to the wall, punching his face over and over again.
Theodore who stood at the far corner of the room could only pinch the space between his eyebrows like an old father watching his stubborn sons. For a while now, a certain pair of green eyes had been boring holes through his back and finally he stared back at her and she glared at him threatenely.
At the table, both Celestial and Sebastian couldn't care less about the fight going on behind them and instead carried on with thier dishes.
"Looks like we have a staring contest going on." Sebastian commented looking at both Theodore and Carmillia that didn't look away from each other for a single second and Celestial chuckled at the cute couple.
"Seems more like Theodore has finally found a partner." Said Celestial and Sebastian hummed in response.
Carmillia scoffed angrily and left the dining room making Theodore immediately follow her.
Meanwhile, Lisa didn't know whom to worry about between the two of them. Was it Lucas that couldn't stop hitting Ezekiel in anger or Ezekiel that did nothing to stop the blows coming from him?.
She stood up, intending to go to Lucas but someone stopped her.
"Don't worry Lisa, they do this all the time." She heard Celestial assure her and she turned.
"Are they going to be alright?."
"Yes, now come I want to have a chat with you if you don't mind."
Lisa hesitantly followed and lead Celestial to her room so that they could speak away from any probing ears.
"I-is it true.. what Ezekiel said?" She asked nervously.
"Yes it's true, Lucas tried everything to save her but in the end, it wasn't enough. She still died, leaving Lucas behind, broken." She smiled sadly at the last words she said.
'So it was true. Lucas's heart was broken by her death.'
Somewhere in her chest, she felt it queeze tightly. What would happen if Lucas were to die and leave her here?.
Would she move on, or will she forever remain a broken shell?.
It was now that she understood what was happening to her.
What she felt for him.
She was actually falling for him.
...
Theodore walked after Carmillia not making his presence known. He watched as she dodged every single task with ease before storming off to an isolated hall.
"I swear if I catch him looking at me again I will punch that pretty face of his!."
Throughout the time she served in the dining room, she could feel him watching her every move but when she looked back, he acted as if she wasn't there at all.
She so wanted to beat that guy up, no matter who he claimed to be. Advisor or not!.
Theodore appeared behind her, wrapping his hands around her waist and whispered seductively" Do you still want to punch my pretty face?."
Carmillia struggled to get out of his hold but for some reason he didn't even budge one bit!.
His hands started moving and her heart pumped so fast she could clearly hear it through her ears, she felt the heat coming to her cheeks and she didn't like this at all!. Her body was reacting to his command.
"Do you hear that?. Your heart beats for me." He stated and without thinking twice she elbowed his stomach, stepping on his shoes and his grip on her loosened, giving her a short opportunity to slip away.
She was so embarrassed about this situation and her face was scorching hot. When was the last time she blushed?. She couldn't even remember.
Theodore smirked in accomplishment seeing her flustered face but the girl didn't turn away shy. She snapped her fingers in front of him like a grandmother and said."How dare you flirt with me?" But what he said next left her speechless.
"How dare you capture my heart."
Her heart skipped a beat and she stared at him, completely confused at how easily he was getting to her. She was stronger than this!.
He pulled her closer and took a deep breath in. He could smell her now. She smelt like greenery and forest. Lifting his hands, he traced her lips and her heart increased it's pace.
'Why aren't you doing anything Carmillia!?. Punch him, kick him, tear his head off!' Her inner mind screamed at her but she couldn't look away from his grey eyes. It was like she was spellbound.
"Actually, I'm not like Lucas that takes forever to realise obvious things so I'll tell you straight. I like you.." He confessed and her eyes widened.
For other maids they would have probably cried in happiness that the prince's advisor likes them but Carmillia wasn't just any maid.
"Then let me also tell you straight. I. DON'T. LIKE.YOU."
He seemed unbothered by her rejection and replied"Then I'll make you fall for me."
She shook her head and pulled away"You don't understand do you?."
She wanted to say something to him but kept quiet. She couldn't tell him the truth about her.
"I'm a human and you are a demon, and that too with me been a lowly servant, it will never work." She lied, hoping he will believe it.
He gripped her hands and stared hard" If my friend a demon can love a witch then anything is possible."
She studied him first before replying"Well, suit yourself, I don't do love, my heart is made of steel."
"Then watch Carmillia, as I melt that heart of steel."
When she left, one thought remained in his mind.
"My sneaky little cat."
