A deep breath fled Draven's nose, and he grabbed the book that Avelina was reading before she fell asleep. He looked inside it and flipped all the way back to the first page to try and keep himself busy with it.
Beside him was the stopwatch. He was still monitoring the time, wanting to know exactly when it clocks forty minutes.
Thirty minutes… The clock ticked... thirty-five minutes... slowly, but gradually, it clocked forty minutes.
DING!
Draven shut the book. He turned off the stopwatch and dropped it on the mini table beside the bed, then looked at Avelina.
He had somewhere important to go, so he needed her to get off him, even though he wished he could have let her stay that way.
Draven reached for the pillow, and as quickly as he got off, he shoved the pillow into Avelina's arms, letting her grip hold of it.
Avelina grumbled in a sleepy tone and turned to lie on her other side while tightly hugging the pillow.
