Santino's shoulders rose and fell in fear. Tiny drops of tears had begun to fall from his eyes.
"Young master, please step back, I beg you. You cannot die! Not after you have survived for this long. You've been locked in there for three years, and you survived through it despite being starved of what keeps you alive. You cannot throw all that away now. Your mother wants you to live. She wants me to keep you alive! So please…don't. For the sake of your mother!"
Draven blinked his eyes and took a step forward. "I must save...I must save my mother. She will die if I don't." He staggered towards Santino, but Santino, who was unwilling to let him go any further, grabbed hold of him.
He shook his head. "Young master, please don't. Your mother will not die. I promise you that. Just step back. Your father must have heard of the commotion, and I am sure that he has sent the royal guards here. Please just go back inside before they come."
