Captain Herkel was waiting with paramedics at the front gate when Xander and Detective Locksley stepped out of the mansion. The captain was surprised to see that the mayor wasn't with them, and there was no sign of his family either.
"What happened in there?" Captain Herkel asked, stopping the duo in its track. "Where's the mayor?"
"Lord Lucien and his family are safe, and they wish to be left alone," Detective Locksley responded curtly.
Captain Herkel didn't like what he was hearing and quickly fixed his scorching eyes on Xander. "What about those cultists?"
"There weren't any cultists inside the mansion. It seems the mayor's life was never in any danger," he replied in a mocking tone, vaguely mimicking the mayor's expression.
