Xander joined Detective Locksley in his car, but not before collecting the payment from Eileen. She had been stingy at her first, but eventually agreed to part with the money to get the Dreamwalker out of her face.
As Detective Locksley drove them towards Ravenmore, he couldn't help but ask about their plans. Despite having complete trust in the detective, Xander didn't quite feel like sharing their secrets with an Ordinaire.
Leena and Master Arwin too, remained silent for the entire journey. After a few tries to break the ice, Detective Locksley eventually gave up.
When they arrived at Ravenmore Street, it was nearly midnight. Not a soul was stirring on the road, and the adjacent shops had their shutters down and lights off.
Though the cops had tried their best to keep the media away from this mess, a few nosy reporters had managed to sneak in and grab enough footage of the Daggertail and the Nightmare Gate to keep their viewers on the edge of their seats.
