The next day, Marcella investigated how Rourke managed to figure out that she was behind Natalie's magazine interview. It was not yet public knowledge that the owner of the magazine—Randy, was Marcella's friend.
Tony had the answer.
Just like she predicted, the district attorney had gotten involved in it. Since Natalie had candidly spoken about the connections Rourke had, the issue was noted by the party members and had reached Washington D.C. The higher-ups in the party wanted this issue sorted out and the district attorney had acted against the law to investigate the magazine company and found out the connection with Randy.
"So, they can act this fast when it concerns them, huh?" Marcella scoffed. "Regular people who need help can't have a swift justice…"
Tony sighed. He was one of the "they" his wife mentioned. She was one of "them" too. But she would never agree to it. He didn't care about that. He only cared about her safety.
