Rains' P.O.V.
I stop us right outside the door and wave over Mia and Annie. "Bring them the cleaning supplies but do not let them bully you two into doing any of their work for them. After they've cleaned up this mess, they can collect their children and return to their rooms for the night. Also, if you don't mind, please bring Odett to us afterward so that Stephanie can relax for the night." I say, making sure that everyone hears me clearly. My blood is still boiling at the fact that they came into our home and acted as they did, and then they questioned my right to address them the way I did.
"Yes, my Queen," Mia says with a smile as they bow.
"We will be in my office," Zion tells them, and they nod and bow, then make their way to get the cleaning supplies, and Zion leads us to his office.
"He doesn't seem to be upset at us. Ryker even seems to be proud of our reaction to those barbarians." Dosha says as I look up to find Zion smiling, but I'm still unsure. For some reason, I can't read his feeling like I can others.
"Maybe you should ask Mom about that later." She says, and I agree.
"I hope I wasn't too harsh on them. I know they are all high-ranking members of their species, but I couldn't help myself and lost my temper." I say, worried that I may have overstepped my boundaries.
"You put them in their place quite eloquently, as a Queen should!" Zion says, and everyone agrees, making me blush, and Jessica giggles at my reaction.
Once we make it into the office, Zion tells everyone to take a seat as we walk around the desk, and Zion pulls me onto his lap. Luna Misty looks so worried. "My King, was my mate and son hurt in the attack? I haven't been able to mindlink either of them, and I haven't seen my son's mate since the attack." She asks. Zion links me, asking if I can feel what Luna Misty is feeling.
"She seems to be genuinely confused and worried for the three of them," I tell him while keeping my eyes locked with hers the whole time. "I don't think she knows that they are involved."
"Luna Mistly, Are you aware that your mate, son, and your sons' Luna have been working with the Rogue King and have abandoned you here, knowing you may face the consequences for their actions?" He asks her quite harshly, not bothering to hide his aggravation at the situation. Her face turns pail as she starts to shake her head in disbelief.
"That's not possible!" She says in denial, as she continues to shake her head.
"I can assure you that it's all true. In fact, your mate was the one that gave the signal for the attack. We have three rogues in our dungeon who all confirm it. And your sons' mate tried to place a fake mating bond spell on me before the ceremony. Unfortunately for her, she didn't know that my mate and I had already marked each other." Zion says. "I believe you know my mate, her sister, and our daughter."
"I know Jessica. Her mother and father were our top warriors before they died almost thirteen years ago. But I don't believe I've ever met your mate or daughter." She says as I watch for any hint of a lie, but there is none.
"I was left at your border as a baby and lived my entire life in your orphanage. I was supposed to become a slave in your packhouse when I turned seventeen until your mate became paranoid and planned my execution for being a witch. Jess talked me into running away with her. Our daughter was brought to the orphanage by your mate and son after they killed the man who we believe was her biological father." I say, trying hard not to let my emotions show. "Your mate was paying the orphan mother, Ms.Lena, to beat me and give me lashes, hoping I would end my own life. Thankfully your son rejected me as his mate and future Luna. But then he left me in the cleaning supply closet feeling the pains of his rejection without ever being taught that I would need to accept his rejection to stop myself from feeling the pains of his betrail."
"Are you saying that you knew none of this, Luna Misty?" Zion asks.
"She knew about his plans to execute Rain. I overheard him talking to her about his plans for it. She also knows about the other slaves in the pack house." Jess says with confidence as she stares down at the Luna. I feel her overwhelming hatred for the woman and quickly move to her side.
"It's okay, sis. We made it out and have finally found our happiness." I say as I hug her and feel her relief flowing through her body. I can feel Orian getting angry and give Jess a nod to calm him down as he and Zion stare down the disgraced Luna. Zion has a murderous look in his eyes, and I move back to him, sitting in his lap with my hand on his forearm to calm him down.
"So you know nothing of your mate and son's acts of treason. But you knew of his act of breaking our laws involving executing people under the age of eighteen and keeping slaves?" Zion asks her after calming down a bit.
"Yes, my King." She says in a low voice as she hangs her head.
Evan and James enter the room, grabbing the disgraced Luna by the arms and making her stand. Zion stands us up while holding me by the waist, and I see Orian doing the same with Jess. "Luna Misty of the Blue River Pack, I, Alpha King Zion, King of the Southern Werewolf Kingdom, hereby strip you of your title as Luna and declare you rogue. You will be placed in our dungeon cell until you are to be sentenced for your crimes." Zion says as he pushes his Alpha arua out, making her knees buckle as tears begin falling from her eyes. Evan and James carry her from the office as she screams for forgiveness.
"I guess we will need to find a new Alpha for the Blue River Pack," Orian says, and Zion nods.
"Jessica, have you ever met the Beta and Gamma of the pack?" Zion asks her.
"Once or twice when I was younger, but I don't remember much about them." She says.
"Orian, call them for a meeting and tell them to be here in two days. Make sure they understand it's not negotiable, they will show up for the meeting, or they will forfeit their titles and be made rogue like their Luna." Zion says, and Orian nods as he pulls out his cell phone.
"Understood, my King," Orian says as he pulls up the number for the pack house and presses the call button. While he makes his call, Zion places his head in the crook of my neck and apologizes to Jess and me for having to use his aura around us.
"There's no need to apologize to us. We understand why you had to do it. Misty was a horrible Luna." Jess says, and I smile and send her a silent thank you. When she nods and says, your welcome, I laugh because I had completely forgotten that Orian had marked her.
"What's so funny?" Zion asks with a bit of amusement in his voice.
"Oh, I was just talking to Jess threw the mind link," I say as I look over at her with my eyebrow cocked, making her laugh.
"Oh? How is that possible?" Zion asks, and Jess and I both look at Orian, who just hung up the phone.
"Well, about that," Orian says as he blushes. "You remember earlier today when you mentioned Jess and I's mating ceremony?"
"Yes," Zion says with a cocky smile.
"How long have you known?" Orian asks.
"Since this morning. I figured you would tell me in your own time." Zion says.
"Wait, you knew before me?" I ask with a huff.
"Yes, my Queen. It wasn't my good news to share." He answers me.
"Why am I always the last to know everything?" I ask dramatically as we all laugh.
"We wanted to let y'all have y'alls special day," Jess says. "I promise we were going to tell y'all both in the morning."
"Well, tomorrow is y'alls special day," Zion says, looking from me to Jess.
"What do you mean?" Jess asks.
"You will be appointed Rains Beta when she is crowned Queen." He answers her. "Did Orian not tell you?"
"No, he must have forgotten about that little detail." She says as she turns around to stare at Orian, making him blush even harder. I can't help but laugh at the fact that at least I'm not the only that's getting a surprise this time.
"Don't worry, my love. Lady Ezmerelda has assured me that she will be handling your dress for the ceremony as well." Orian says as he takes her hand and kisses it.
"Okay. I guess it was going to happen eventually. But what about combat training? Don't most Betas have that?" She asks.
"That will come next week for both of you. Neither of you will need the basic training since we saw how well both of you handled yourselves on the field earlier." Zion says, and Orian nods in agreement.
