Rains' P.O.V.
"Rain, wake up, my child." I hear a heavenly voice say as I feel like I'm floating. Opening my eyes, I realize I'm back in the darkness again. I look around, my eyes falling on Dosha, my beautiful silver wolf, and then on a gorgeous woman standing next to her, tall and slender, with an aura of the moon radiating off her. She has to be a goddess! I think to myself.
"Hello, my dear, I am the moon Goddess. I'm sorry for everything You have been through. Unfortunately, it was all necessary for you to experience those events to prepare you for what's to come." She says, and I'm completely lost.
"I don't understand. What's to come?" I ask. "What do I need to be prepared for?"
"I'm sorry, my daughter, all things will become clear soon, but we don't have the time for me to explain right now. You have people waiting on you to wake up. Including your true mate." She says, and with that, she disappears, and it's just Dosha and me now.
"How long have I been here?" I ask. "What happened?"
"You've been asleep for almost three days. In that time, I've regained most of my strength thanks to the moon Goddess, Selene." She says, "I can't tell you what happened this time. That will be a task for your mate. Now it's time for you to wake up, close your eyes and try to concentrate on your surroundings and what you feel."
I nod as she fades into the blackness. I close my eyes and try to concentrate. I start feeling tingling sensations in my left hand, and then the tingles flow up my arm and through my entire body. Then I can feel a ball of warmth on my right side. I concentrate harder on those feelings, and I start hearing voices, but I can't make out what they're saying, but I can recognize Jess and Orians voices. I'm suddenly overwhelmed with multiple emotions. First is Sadness, then grief, love, remorse, happiness, and gratitude. But I don't think they're mine. I open my eyes to see what's happening, but everything is blurry.
"Mommy, you're finally awake!" I hear Odett say with excitement. Did she call me Mommy?
"The moon Goddess and I told her she could call you that when we visited her in a dream earlier. I hope you don't mind." Dosha says.
"I don't mind at all," I say as I try to sit up, but my body is sore and heavy. It feels like I haven't moved in ages.
I feel a tingling hand slide under my neck and lift the top half of my body to a sitting position while someone places pillows behind me. I try saying thank you, but my throat is too dry to speak. A second later, I hear Jess say, "Here, drink this." then I feel a glass touch my lips. After taking a few sips, my throat is no longer dry. I nod and say thank you. I blink a few times, trying to fix the blurriness, but nothing helps, and I realize I'm crying.
"Why are you crying, Rainie-bug?" I hear Jess ask. I reach over, feeling for Odett, and pull her into my lap.
"I can't see anything," I say, and gasps come from around the room. Then I hear someone I don't recognize say, "Get the doctor."
After a few minutes, I hear the door open, and someone says he needs everyone out to do an examination. I assume this is the doctor. Suddenly growls erupt from the room, making me jump in surprise. I shake my head and tell them all that I'll be alright and tell Jess and Odett I'll see them soon. Then I laugh at myself because I can't see. After some protest, someone lifts Odett out of my lap, and they all leave, and It's only the doctor and me.
"How are you feeling?" The doctor asks.
"My body is really stiff, and my eyes are so blurry I can't see anything. Is that normal?" I ask.
"What do you remember?" He asks without answering my question.
"Not much. I decided to take a bath after Jess and Odett went outside. I filled the tub and put some bubble bath and bath salts in. Then I climbed into the tub. A few minutes later, someone came into my room. I thought it was Jess and Odett, I called out to them, letting them know where I was, but then they said it was room service. A few seconds later, I got shoved under the water. I tried to get free but couldn't, and then everything went dark." I explain while he's checking my eyes with a small flashlight.
"It seems the bath salts are the cause of your blurry eyes. It should go back to normal soon. I'll bring some eyedrops for your sister and mate to administer. They should clear up in no time." He says.
"Thank you, doctor," I say gratefully.
"I recommend that you rest and keep your eyes closed as much as possible so they can heal quicker. And avoid bright lights or the sun as well." He says, and I nod in response.
"I have to go and explain my diagnosis to your sister and the King. I'll also bring them your drops and explain the dosage and when to give them to you." He says, and I'm shocked.
"The King knows about my situation?" I ask, slightly flustered.
"Of course, my dear. The King is the one that saved you. He also hasn't left your side since then." He answers before walking out of the room. When I hear the door close, I lean back, closing my eyes, and drift off into the darkness.
