My brain and heart are at war,
One knows better, the other loves you more,
My heart longs for you, day and night,
It asks about you, with all its might.
But what should I say in reply,
When even I don't know the reason why,
My heart still holds on to the past,
While my mind tells me it won't last.
I wish I could give my heart an answer,
To quell the doubts and fears like a dancer,
But the truth is, I'm just as lost,
As my heart, paying an emotional cost.
So I'll take it one day at a time,
Embracing the journey, and the climb,
My heart and mind may never agree,
But I'll find my way eventually.
For now, I'll listen to my heart's plea,
As it searches for the missing key,
And though I don't have all the answers,
I'll hold on tight, and take my chances.
