Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - What's Happening?

"What is that?" Waking up on a hard floor with the night breeze hitting his face, Alexander jumped to his feet.

Looking around he realized that he was in his cheap apartment, however, where his door should have been there was a huge hole.

"Looks like a car hit here, what happened?" Tried to remember something, Alexander thought about what he had done yesterday.

"Other than sleeping in my bed like I normally do, nothing else happened." Looking at the time on his phone, he saw it was (00:37).

"I went to sleep around 10pm, mostly because my wall is broken and because I was on the floor." If an accident happened while he was sleeping, shouldn't the place be full of police, or should he be in the hospital?

Finding the situation totally strange, Alexander was really confused.

Leaving his apartment to see what was going on, he came across an empty corridor, in addition, the doors of the other two rooms had the same hole as his apartment.

"What the hell is happening?" Finding the situation very strange, Alexander decided to go back inside and get a wooden baseball bat that he had kept.

Having retrieved the bat that was stored behind his bedroom door, Alexander felt more confident.

He then tried to call the police, however, his phone had no signal, even though he was in the middle of the city, even the Wi-Fi was not working, so he tried to turn on the lights and realized that the building was without power.

Finding everything even stranger and with no other choice, Alexander made up his mind.

"I'll see the other floors." Alexander lived on the fifth floor of a 5-story building, where each floor had 3 apartments.

Descending the stairs slowly, Alexander soon reached the 4th floor, where the doors were completely destroyed with a part of the wall.

Entering the apartments they were all empty, however, they seemed intact.

Seeing that the fourth floor had nothing, Alexander went to the third floor, where he found a gigantic bloodstain on the wall.

Squeezing the bat in his hand more tightly, Alexander plucked up courage, after all, his other option was to stand still in his room and stare at the wall.

Arriving in the third-floor hallway, Alexander nearly vomited at the sight of the resident of room number 8, Thomas, having his dead body eaten by some sort of red creature.

The red creature was knee-high, and it ate Thomas's flesh as if it were feasting.

The creature didn't seem to notice him since he was just watching from afar, so he thought about what he should do.

"I don't know what it is though, if I can catch this monster off guard, it'll be better than having him fed and ready to kill me."

Alexander was not stupid, this whole situation was very strange and now, seeing his neighbor being eaten by a monster, his survival instinct came into play.

Slowly approaching the monster that had its back to him, Alexander held his club tighter and when he was only a few steps away the monster looked in his direction.

And Alexander was finally able to see what he looked like, big red colored eyes, a mouth full of sharp teeth, two pointed horns on his head and sharp claws on his hand.

The small monster was horrible, however, Alexander wasted no time, approaching the monster that seemed to have been caught off guard, Alex precisely hit the monster's head with his club.

This made the monster fly away and slam its body into the wall, its bat had filled with blood and the monster had one side of its face completely deformed.

"Not dead yet." Getting close to the stunned monster, Alex used his club and started hitting the monster's head, this lasted until a red light came out of the monster's body and entered Alex's body.

As the light was very fast, he couldn't react and had thought it was a monster attack.

However, he felt no pain, but a holographic screen appeared in his vision and Alex instinctively read its contents.

[Level 1 Imp Soul]

[+ 1 soul]

[Level 1 (1/10)]

When the soul entered his body beyond the holographic text, he also felt his "inside" where he accidentally ended up entering.

His "inside" was a completely black place, with only a glass the size of his arm.

The glass had measurements ranging from one to 10 and one-tenth of it has a red liquid present.

Trying to approach the glass, he realized that there was an invisible barrier that prevented him from approaching.

"Perhaps this is the representation of the imp's soul in my body?" Alexander had a few theories, but none of them could be confirmed right now, so he had to wait.

"I wonder what will happen if the glass is full." Alexander does not know and was curious.

However, he decided to leave his "interior" and soon his vision returned to normal, in addition, the holographic screen was gone.

Looking at With the monster dead, Alex was getting ready to leave when the monster exploded into red particles.

"Fuck, what was that." Obviously this scared the shit out of Alexander, after all he wasn't prepared.

But when he saw that the monster was just gone, and in its place a small wooden chest appeared, he was astonished.

"Things are looking stranger and stranger."

Looking at the palm-sized wooden trunk, Alex wanted to pick it up, but he heard a disturbing scream from down the hall.

-hackkkk-

One more imp, and this one was coming towards him like he hadn't eaten in days.

The imp was running towards him on its small legs, it was surprisingly slow, so Alex managed to prepare well.

When the imp got close, Alex swung his club at the imp's small body, he managed to send the monster flying towards the wall again.

"Your arm looks broken." This time the main damage was on the imp's arm, so it wasn't stunned and came at him again, only this time with its right arm completely inactive.

-hackkkk- with the hatred in his eyes, the imp looked like he was in a lot of pain.

However, Alexander didn't care, he wasn't one with compassion for his enemies, swinging his club again he made sure to hit his head.

And unsurprisingly he succeeded easily, leaving the imp in a sorry state.

"But he's not dead yet." Getting closer, he hit the imp until literally his soul left his body and the notifications appeared in his mind.

[Level 1 Imp Soul]

[+ 1 soul]

[Level 1 (2/10)]

Looking inside, he realized that the red liquid really was the Soul of the imp, as the glass had been filled a little more.

"This time there's no chest." The imp soon exploded into particles, however, it hadn't dropped any chests.

Seeing that he took the first chest and went up to the fifth floor, he wanted to process everything that happened and see what was in the chest.

Arriving at his apartment, he first decided to get ready, currently he was wearing slippers and pajamas.

Going to his room he got some better clothes, bandages for the wrist he had from his Muay Thai fights and a backpack, where he put a flashlight, after all he was only able to see due to the moonlight that entered through the window.

"Come to think of it, why is the moonlight so bright?" Even though it was a full moon, the amount of lighting seemed too great.

Looking up through the window, Alex stared in a daze at the giant red moon that glowed in the sky.

He didn't know and wondered why this moon didn't transmit red light, or how it was so close, but what took Alex out of his reflections were the monsters that walked the street.

"Holy shit, what is this." Paying attention to a being 2 meters tall, bipedal with two legs and two arms, possessing gigantic claws, completely black skin, a muscular body and with the scariest being its elk-shaped head that was made completely of bones, Alex he slowly left the window so that this freak wouldn't see him.

"I think I found out who destroyed my door." Giving a self-deprecating laugh, Alex considered what to do.

"If one of these monsters is in my building, I will definitely die." Looking at his bat, he couldn't imagine killing that monster.

"Well, that doesn't change the fact that I have to prepare myself." Returning his things to his backpack, soon Alexander was ready.

Wearing black hiking boots, black cargo pants, black dress shirt with a trench coat over it, Alex also put on his head a baseball helmet he had been saving, he also didn't forget to put his bandages on his wrist with all this he finally got felt a little safer.

"Now I want to see the trunk." Opening the small wooden chest the size of his palm, he saw a white crystal.

"What is that?" With curiosity, Alexander took the crystal and a notification appeared in his mind.

[Skill Crystal]

(Break to use.)

"What is a skill crystal?" Following the holographic screen's instruction, Alex shattered the crystal with his own hand with relative ease, causing it to explode into white particles and enter his body.

"Shit, what is this?" Feeling a huge headache, Alexander was taken by force to his "inside".

There now beyond, the glass he could see a glass sphere with a purple liquid and the strangest thing was that he could feel this purple liquid.

He felt the purple liquid running all over his body, however, most of it was present inside that glass sphere.

"Another barrier." At that point the headache had stopped and Alex had tried to approach the glass sphere.

Seeing that he couldn't do anything else, he decided to get out of his interior.
