Why are first units labeled 101? I have three this semester.
In HIST 101 class_ attended a couple of times _ I met a girl. Not cool, not worth mentioning in the same breath as B. But, as it is said, beauty resides in the eyes of the observer.
I say she's hot.
She's buggy head to toe.
Buggy t-shirts, oversize hoodies, sports shoes, sweatpants, and huge glasses almost covering a third of her face. As I said, she's kinda hot.
Nerdy even.
We sat together during the first class, I asked to see her notes due to my eyes, myopia.
"Sure", she said, "myopic?"
"Ah, sure", I replied stubbornly. Her big eyes made me a bit distracted, I have big brown eyes too. Her's are bigger, darker, and somewhat sparkly.
"Kim...my name", I introduced. She nodded, didn't share hers. I knew then it was a bad idea. Why would I embarrass myself like that?
As I observed her gaze behind those huge glasses she stared right back at me, making me blush. Noticing, she looked ahead.
She places her notes close to me. I do stare at her face while she's being attentive, like always.
She has a very symmetrical face, almost inexistent cheekbone, and always natural full lips as well as bushy eyebrows. She shows no effort in amplifying her beauty.
She's a mystery, like any other girl I meet. I want to know what she is like.
I always wonder if her chest is full or tiny. What is her body count? Does she have a boyfriend? Many? Is she clingy or ...
I would forget we were in a lecture, that she might turn back and look at me
Thought of her waist, was it thick or slim? What was she covering? Was it worth it?
Yesterday, I snapped out of it when someone tapped my shoulder, was a guy who wanted to be excused. Fuck! The class is over already!
I collected myself made him a way. I could feel the girl's eyes drilling into my face. Acted normal, closing the book. Went on to make myself busy, blowing her off.

A mobile application I placed online already had a interested buyer.
To present, the lecture hall was deserted except for me and _ to my surprise _ the girl. She sat calm next to me staring at me with a smirk on. I had never seen her express any emotions before.
I smiled back, not knowing what else to do. "You are here", I could hear my words wanting to choke me to death.
She smiled, this time showing some white tight-knit teeth, she flashed a tiny gap between her incisors.
I take my words back. She's hot! Smiling, her face lights up like Christmas
Before my gaze turned uncomfortable, she said "Chloe"showing her perfect mouth once more.
"Beautiful name", I complemented. Hardly noticed it.
I wondered what was keeping her. I get uncomfortable around girls, hot ones the most. Like her. Lacked words to ask for space to pass.
"You have no idea, do you?"She asked so calmly that I felt her voice echo through the empty hall. I guess I fall in love easily because I was already seeing us holding hands on the grass at night stargazing.
"Ah, yeah! Maybe you like to hang out with me?", I joked gingerly. She laughed, I didn't know she could do that.
I laughed gingerly.
Chloe handed me her notes, "Maybe next time try to pay attention"
I took it. And looked at her notes, I had missed almost half a page_ which in University is a lot. I decided to photocopy it.
If only the lecturer acted mature, I wouldn't have had to embarrass myself in front of Chloe like that. Wonder why she doesn't call me out for staring at her during the lecture and relying on her good kindness.
We don't get PDF notes or any other form for this class. The lecturer said it would make us lazy. He expected us to tear down recommended books one by one in the library.
Chloe got up and headed to the door without a word. Leaving me in there alone photocopying her work. Has she decided to leave me with her notes? Maybe she expects me to go with her book and return during our next class on Wednesday.
Fifteen minutes went by with my head buried in her notes, the units are very simple. I didn't need any help to understand what was inked there. Plus, her handwriting was just perfect.
I was about to leave when I saw her backpack next to me. I should drop her book in there and leap away from here, but what if the backpack gets stolen?
She's coming back, I said to myself.
Decided to wait, wondering where she went and why it was taking so long. Did she forget?
Decided to take a walk with her backpack, two notebooks on my hand. I didn't like the idea of invading her privacy placing the book in her bag.
I took the stairs from the Auditorium, to the center of the Administration Block before taking the backdoor to the huge elevated balcony.
There are many elevated blocks around the buildings where students sit. The blocks housed flowers at the furrow. Sat at the end anchoring my back against the piller.
From there I would easily see her coming in and out.
Down that path is the campus lake and the bridge leading to science complex. If she was to use any of those ways I would easily spot her.
To the east, could see her coming from the Chapel and entry pavements leading to either the front of administration block or to where I was. Pavements connect the larger ones to make every part of the campus accessible.
The spaces between the pavements have long grass and some tall trees. Close to the lake there are shade trees, mangroves and few benches.
It is all green with trees, trimmed bushes, flowers and grass
Students are hovering around in groups, couples and singles. It is easy to live an incognito life here, they are all kinda narcissists.
Saw a girl talking on her phone and giggling, a group of friends chatting, two lovers throwing small stones in the lake, a car passing by, people come and go out of the administration block but no sigh of Chloe.
It had been almost an hour, where did she go?
Six thirty eight and the surroundings turned darker by the minute. The cold breeze from the forested westside of the campus made me give up on her.
Went back to the hall, there were some students doing their stuff. Some flirting, some kissing, some exchanging glances, some reading, some on their devices and very few observing.
She wasn't one of them.
I decided to go back to my room with her bag and wait for the next class. She will understand that I tried to wait for her. I thought waking out.
"Hey! Hey ,you!", A girl called from our sitting spot. I stole a glance even though I knew it wasn't her, she was gesturing for me to come, go or stay.
I pointed at myself and she nodded.
The hall paid attention to me for seconds before commencing to what they were doing before my interruption.
I tiptoed to her gritting my teeth from the cold breeze as she evened out the distance.
She was shorter but more mature, probably a junior. I wondered what she wanted from me. She gauged me as if wondering something.
"Hey", she said smiling "that wasn't the best way to start a conversation. Are you the one Chloe was looking for?"
Her question shook me. I didn't expect Chloe to have sneaked in the hall and waited for me. I nodded.
"Would you like for me to show you where she is?"
"Of course, I ...".I said before she interrupted me. "I haven't seen you around, are you knew here?"
"Yes, freshman"
She smirked, "must be honest. Not many freshmen walk around here advertising it. "
I smiled back.
As she led me out of the hall, out through the small gate leading to apartment buildings and to the gated one I couldn't help but wonder what was happening.
Who was she to Chloe? A friend? Roommate? Or maybe just someone from her building.
I didn't ask much, I relied on my own observations. Like, how she seemed older than me _probably a junior. And how cool she walked, talked and acted, as if talking with a new guy and taking him through the darkening sidewalks was normal.
I just followed. As she rocked her hair from right to left, and exchanged greetings, hugs and cheek kisses with the students we met on the way.
They looked at me like I was lost. Like I was stalking her.
