Chapter 8 - Chapter 7

Mistral, Haven Academy.

"Hello, Headmaster Leo." Tohsaka Rin smiled as she sat on the chair of the headmaster of Haven Academy and greeted said headmaster who just arrived.

Raven Branwen was standing at the side, her arms crossed, leaning on the wall, looking bored of everything.

"Miss Tohsaka, such an honored guest." Leonardo smiled, "You should've informed me in advance and I could've received you."

Leonardo is a man in his fifty, with gray hair resembling that of a lion's mane, wearing a suit, and a tail of a lion hanging behind him.

"And then…" Leonardo turned towards Raven and flinched, "Raven Branwen …a rare guest."

Raven snorted, but ignored the man and just enjoyed the outside view from the window.

"I'm not here for some small talk or getting to know you stuff," said Rin as she stood up, her eyes glowing for some reason, "Tell me where can I find the Relic?"

Leonardo's eyes glowed before dimming, and eventually turned dull, as Rin just smirked and walked towards him.

Raven just sighed, still impressed by how they use magi—magecraft. While the best she can do is just summoning fires and lightning …it's pretty strong, no doubt, but for someone who could pretty much do stuff like creating an artificial human with physical abilities and combat skills that put most huntsmen to shame …she's a more than a little lacking.

"Seriously, someone with powers like yours, I don't get why you're so obsessed with that man you're willing to share him with other women." Said Raven.

Rin scoffed, and turned towards her, "Mere words can't describe our bond. Even Edelfelt, as hateful as she is, is someone I treasured greatly. We all agreed to be with Shirou due to some circumstances, but that's limited to us. We're not going to let some harlot be one of us."

Their bonds were formed during childhood and tempered by their experiences. Each one of them hold significant part in Shirou's heart for it is them who shaped him to be the man that he is today.

Back then, Shirou was an empty shell who could do nothing but help others.

It was Sakura that made him open up his hearts to others.

Caren was the one who taught him how to love himself.

Rin taught him that it was alright for him to rely on others and not shoulder everything alone.

Luvia taught him how to treasure his life and not put others before his.

Bazett taught him to care for not only his own well being but others as well.

Saber taught him how to be strong to protect those he care about.

Caster taught him to be more selfish and not only think about the needs of others but his as well.

Rider was the one who taught him that there's more to life than just helping others.

And Illya was the one who taught him how to treasure everything he has.

Each one of them played a significant role into the growth of the man known as Emiya Shirou, and that's one of the reason why no one tried to monopolize Shirou for themselves, because none of them thought what they have done for Shirou is far greater than the others.

And they also acknowledge the fact that without the help of others, then they wouldn't have the Shirou Emiya they all know and love.

"I still find it ridiculous," Raven rolled her eyes, "If I have your power, I absolutely don't want to share my man."

"The boy you left behind?"

"No. He's weak and pathetic …in that manner, your Shirou is way better. If I am stronger than all of you and Shirou's my man, I absolutely won't share him."

"Want me to fire Gandr at you?" Rin narrowed her eyes at Raven as a glowing dark crimson orb formed on her finger.

"I'm sorry. Please don't." Raven quickly lowered her head and apologizes. Her body shivering from fear and trauma it experienced under the hands of Tohsaka Rin and Luviagelita Edelfelt.

"Hmph." Rin snorted before flicking her fingers, causing the orb to vanish. "Now come. I want to see what's so special about these Relics."

"Mn." Raven nodded and followed behind her.

Caren Hortensia was laughing wildly in her mind as she watched a bunch people kneeling below her, with her being carried on a luxurious sedan chair wearing a nun outfit.

Six months ago when they first came here in this world she immediately chose to start her own religion to spread the word of god, and now six months later she have amassed quite a lot of fanatics.

It wasn't that hard. She learned a bit of healing magecraft, and she visited a lot of frontier villages to heal the sick and wounded and spreading faith.

A little bit of encouraging words there, a little bit of encouraging words here, it didn't take long for her religion to grow and spread globally.

She enchanted some water to give whoever is 'blessed' by it to relieve their mental fatigue, making even a physically tired person feel like they can run another marathon.

Then, she ordered some Homunculus created by Illya to spread them to her churches that was built to almost every parts of the world.

And right now, the influence of her church has penetrated even in various government. If she wanted to, she can start a religious war. That's how much influence her church has.

It's pretty much Europe in middle ages.

Caren declared herself as a Saintess, a messenger of God who was given a mission to save the world from its inevitable destruction.

'Really, humans are dumb.' Thought Caren as she observed the kneeling humans down below, 'Hmph, this farce is starting to get boring though.'

"Saintess! Please wait! Your humble follower seeks an answer!"

Caren raised a brow and turned her head, seeing a man with thick unshaven beard, wearing a ragged clothing, with thick eyebags, and seems to reek of alcohol.

"Come, child." Caren smiled, motioning the man forward, "Let me clear your clouded mind. Tell me what it is you desire to know."

The man slowly walked towards her, before kneeling on the ground, "Saintess …you have said before that everyone's life has a meaning, but I never really find out mine. My wife left me, taking our kids with her, I am under a huge debt, and I lost even my home …can such life really have meaning?"

'People's life has no meaning. They are born only to die.' Caren thought grimly, though she wouldn't say that. "You are troubled about what you think is your lack of purpose?"

"I …do."

Caren nodded. Not surprising, a lot of people wastes their life because they don't find any meaning to continue on with their lives.

She smiled, "Do you know, the two most happiest moment in your life, is the day you were born, and the day you found out why."

The man raised his head and stared at her.

"Life itself has no meaning. Life is an opportunity to create a meaning. So rejoice, child, for your life has not yet ended and therefore still have the opportunity to find your calling."

She spread her arms, "for me, whatever we are, whatever we make ourselves, is all that we will ever have. And that, in all its simplicity, is the meaning of life."

Without waiting for a response, she tapped the sedan she was sitting on with her feet as the four people carrying her immediately resumed their duties and walked away with her.

Caren wiped an imaginary sweat, 'Phew. What's up with these people asking about life? Damn, even god don't know our meaning so he gave us free will so we can think of it ourselves and save him the trouble.'

Unknown to her however, her words seems to have touched the soul of the man, as his dull eyes grew brighter and full of life.

He stood up, staring at the sedan chair that was getting further with a grateful smile.
