"Unbelievable! Seriously unbelievable! Do you have any idea how —"
"Shush,"
"What—, how dare—!"
"Shut it for a bit,"
Back to Bazett, she was currently in the depths of the cave, observing her surroundings. Winter was behind her, she look rather annoyed by Bazett's interruptions, but stopped voicing out complaints after noticing her serious look.
"This is weird," Bazett frowned, "…didn't it say that the Grimm was a Geist that can use Dust?"
Winter nodded, "according to the reports, yes."
"And this is its lair right?"
"Yes."
"Look around, the Dusts are untouched." Said Bazett, motioning at the bunch of raw Dusts around the cave, "the Geist would've already took it all in."
"…" Winter went silent. She frowned, before saying, "but the reports described the Grimm exactly like the Geist."
"Geist can have a different forms depending on the things it possessed," said Bazett as she look around, "though it's most used form is similar to a giant rock golem, they can also change it at will."
"…But that doesn't make any sense. If not Geist, then what is? According to the reports, the Grimm was capable of releasing a high voltage electric shocks and ice manipulation, only by taking in raw dusts can they do that."
"Are you sure about that? Then explain how a Sea Feilong can fire a lightning breath. Or why does Grimm turn into Dusts after its death, hmm?"
"…"
"See? If you think outside the box, you'd realize just how magical the world works."
"There is a perfectly reasonable explanations for those! A Sea Feilong might just have something in its body that allow it to fire electricity, like an electric eel!"
"Then how do you explain the Grimm? Or better yet, how come a soul—something metaphysical, can make you tank hits that would otherwise pulverize any normal person?"
"…That's—" truthfully, Winter doesn't know. Aura just became something so common and 'normal' for them that they never really question it.
Aura became part of their world just like gravity and oxygen. Oh there were research done to find out more about it, no doubt, but they never really put much effort or budget into it.
"Heh, you should let go of your common sense girl, because the world is more mysterious than people make it out to be."
Just as Bazett said those, a large circle with eight pointed star glowed on the ground as the cave shook.
Winter unsheathed her saber as Bazett clenched her fist.
As the light dissipates, a three meter tall golem now stood in front of them.
'An Iron Golem!?' Bazett expressed her shock seeing a creature she used to play with back in Chaldea. 'And this foul scent …a Dead Apostle? Sealing Designate? Whatever uses this magecraft is bad news.'
Bazett was no Shirou who's like a dog that can 'smell' magecraft, but even so, she can still perceive something of this level.
'This is definitely magecraft from our world. Did that old troll decided to bring some people here to mess with us?'
"This is not a Geist," Winter muttered.
Bazett couldn't help but roll her eyes.
"Focus girl," Bazett said as she saw the Golem looking towards them, "hide in the corner or something, I can handle this on my own."
With that, she bolted towards the Golem, cocking her fist for a punch.
"Wha—? Unbelievable!" Winter gritted her teeth as she felt like she was being disregarded and underestimated.
Really, cooperating with huntsmen are simply impossible for a soldier like her.
—————
"Any results?"
"None so far."
"I see."
Currently, in a large and dark room filled with things you would find in a stereotypical witch room, ancient writings and all, four people are currently gathered.
One of them is Caster, Medea of Colchis; holding a lamp as she sat in front of a table and observing it with a glowing eyes.
Sitting in front of her, also observing the lamp, is Tohsaka Rin.
Standing a few feet from them, Luviagelita Edelfelt, who just arrived.
And standing beside her is the curious Raven Branwen, who wanted to know more and learn about the real and more advance usage of magecraft instead of just blasting people away with elemental attacks.
"Truly, an artifact that has reached the realm of a Divine Construct," said Rin, "though not on the same level as Saber's Excalibur, it is still worthy of praise."
"Don't compare this to Excalibur," Medea snorted, "this could barely even be considered as a Divine Construct. If I study it for a few years I might be able to replicate it."
"I don't doubt that," Luvia smirked, "you're one of the best Magus in history, with skills only below a Grand. I'm sure that if you have a strong enough clairvoyance you would have been a Grand Candidate."
"I'm not that good," Medea smiled at her, "Solomon would beat me in every aspect, and same goes for aunt Circe and lady Hecate."
Rin rolled her eyes, "you are comparing yourself to literal Grand and Goddesses, except for them I doubt there is a human magus whose skills would even come close to you."
"You're flattering me," Said Medea.
"…Enough about that," Rin turned towards Luvia, "What do you want Edelfelt?"
"Artoria has requested we send some C-rank and above Servants from the Grand Order to Vale, there appears to be an emergency." Said Luvia with a serious look, "the Vale Council also contacted me."
"…" Rin stopped her work and furrowed her brows, "emergency, huh. Did they gave you the details?"
Luvia nodded, "Apparently, Artoria discovered that a whole bunch of mutated Grimms made their nest in the underground city of Mount Glenn, and a man seems to be able to command them."
"Interesting," Medea's eyes sparkled hearing that.
"Command them?" Rin smirked, "so other than the 'witch', there are other people that can do it? Hehehe, you must bring that man back to us, alive if possible."
Raven shivered. Already feeling pity for the man she haven't met yet for his upcoming suffering from the hands of these people.
"Then I guess we'll send a notice to every Servants to head to Vale as soon as possible?" Luvia turned towards Rin.
After all, the two of them are the heads of Grand Order and they need the approval of the other party if they wanted to do something this big.
Hey, though they have some disagreements, it doesn't change the fact that they respect each other's abilities as a magus.
"We don't have to make it compulsory," said Rin as she stood up, "you know our Grand Order emphasizes on its loose restrictions and high degree of freedom."
"I know that, obviously." Luvia rolled her eyes, "I'm planning on posting the mission and make it available to all C and above rank."
"And the rewards? I doubt there would be a lot of Servants that would take that job if the rewards aren't worth it." Said Rin.
Luvia hummed, "Vale has sent 9.8 Billion Lien to be divided by any servants who takes this mission. The reward will increase depending on how much they have helped in the situation."
"That's fair," Rin nodded, "tell the chibi to get her familiars ready to observe the actions of every members. We don't want some cowards hiding in the back and being able to receive hefty sum."
"Should we inform Shero?" Asked Luvia.
Rin thought for a moment before shaking her head, "he's currently in Argus, even if he rushed to Vale now it would take seven to eight hours of flight before he arrived. Besides, he's watching the tournament that his protege participated in. I don't want to distract him."
"True, and Saber's more than enough to handle the situation there." Said Luvia, nodding her head. "Well, I will head back to my office to deal with a lot of things, I'll be leaving then."
"Wait for me," Rin wiped her hands with a towel and fixes her messy hair, "I'll help. Caster already got this research going on."
"Yes. You deal with the business while I do the research," said Medea, "This little bird will be assistant anyway."
Rin nodded as she walked out of the workshop, followed by Luvia who gave Medea a small nod and a smile before following behind her rival.
Raven wanted to leave, but her curiosity got the better of her and she decided to stay and observe the woman that Rin and Luvia considered as one of the greatest Magus in existence.
"Well, Branwen," Medea turned towards Raven, "can you pass on that scroll on the table behind you, thank you."
Raven nodded and took the scroll before handing it to Medea.
"Sit back, I'll show you why I'm a Caster." With a grin, Medea opened the scroll.
"Divine Construct? Don't make me laugh. This is just some fancy toy compared to a genuine one. I will certainly pry you open like a canned goods!"
