The party was in full swing by the time Scott and Allison arrived.

Let's call it fashionably late.

After all Allison looked absolutely stunning in the contrasting colours of black and white.

While Scott's face was not doing his shirt any justice and his shirt was oddly fabulous tonight.

I shook my head as I saw Derek leaving the pool yard while Scott let out a sigh, his brows raised and eyes locked on me.

He was bewildered by Derek's presence, so was I.

I don't know what's going on inside the edge lord's mind but he is not being cool.

I shrugged in response and it was Scott's turn to shake his head while I walked back to my spot in the garden as Allison pulled Scott into the dance floor.

I took my cup and began to savour the whiskey while thinking about the incidents.

A theory was forming in my mind as I gulped down the liquid.

Let's, in the most if case assume I'm right and Scott and I are werewolves, then can Derek be the one who bit us?

The evidence solidifies the claim in perfect sense, Derek had Scott's inhaler and has been stalking us since.

Well even if it's the worst case, I already had a plan.

I double and triple checked what time the moon would rise tonight. I had aced that part of my earth sciences class...when I was in 7th grade.

Now as a Sophomore, that particular lesson of apogee and perigee was buried and forgotten.

So I spent a good forty minutes on the internet calculating the precise moment of the moonrise before coming to the party.

Sure as hell can't expect Scott to do it.

As far as I could tell, the moon wouldn't rise until well after midnight. Which meant that as long as me and Scott leave the party by ten thirty-ish, which is in half an hour.

We'd be golden.

As my eyes landed on Scott, I couldn't help but break out a chuckle.

The sight of him attempting to dance with a girl was just too hilarious to resist.

I mean, let's be real, he's never been graceful on the dance floor, especially when it comes to coordinating his steps with a partner like Allison.

It was pure comedy gold witnessing him constantly messing up the dance moves, desperately trying not to trample all over Allison and failing miserably.

She put on a brave face, trying her best not to wince in agony but even she had a threshold.

I poured a bit more alcohol into my body, bad move but considering I might not even be myself on full moon, I guessed why not.

I watched the scene unfold, Allison finally took charge and attempted to guide Scott in a more rhythmic sway, rather than letting him unleash his inner Michael Jackson.

Scott beamed with delight as he finally grasped the concept, but that moment of triumph was short-lived. Naturally, his attention quickly shifted to something else.

I followed his gaze to the room in the corner on the top floor, and boy, did I ever let out a groan as I deadpanned at Scott's sheer idiocy.

Lydia and Jackson were engaging in a passionate make-out session by the window and Scott stared at them like a famished pet, completely oblivious to Allison's existence.

Even Allison couldn't ignore the blatant disregard as Scott stopped responding to her.

Ah, Teen Drama, never expected to witness it this soon but maybe I should have, considering it's Scott.

Suddenly Scott scowled as he stepped away from Allison, his eyes narrowed and his face morphing into a frown as his hand clutched his chest.

I slowly stood up as I had a forewarning sense about the situation, sweat began to drop through his face, in a matter of seconds it looked like he was about to pass out.

"Are you okay?" Allison asked as Scott staggered back into the crowd.

"Scott?" I muttered in worry as he lurched away and staggered out of the party half-blind, bumping into a few others as Allison and I followed behind him.

I heard a few distant voices asking me if he was okay but they were easily shrugged off.

They didn't care, it was more of a formality.

Scott, being all capable and competent, miraculously made his way to his car, keys swaying elegantly in his hands and gracefully slid into the driver's seat before zooming off without wasting a single moment.

Even though the full moon had yet to illuminate the sky, my oh-so-sharp intuition informed me that Scott was going through a profound transformation.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, he was evolving into a genuine werewolf.

Isn't that just mind-blowingly awesome and simultaneously terrifying? And just at that precise moment, it struck me like a bolt of lightning.

How on earth could I possibly miss witnessing my dear friend's inaugural metamorphosis? It was a realisation that penetrated the deepest recesses of my consciousness.

I mentally nodded with determination, taking a step towards my beloved blue beauty, my trusty Jeep; however, my progress was abruptly halted as I witnessed Derek making his way towards Allison.

My mind created a thousand scenarios of how their conversation is going to end. Most of them involved some form of stabbing, kidnapping, or even worse, Allison meeting an untimely demise in the hands of the creep king.

Now, here I stand faced with two glorious options.

Option number one: I could simply mind my own business, make a swift exit, and ensure Scott's safety from a distance.

Option number two: I could gallantly step in and shield the fair maiden like a true gentleman.

Well, it's not exactly a challenging decision, is it? I confidently shut the door of my trusty Jeep and emerged from its protective embrace.

As a pillar of unwavering friendship, I shall place my utmost faith in Scott's ability to handle whatever comes his way.

He is a guy, he can take it and I already did have a plan to stop by Thunderbird and Whale.

A few more minutes surely can't hurt anyone, right?
