Chapter 22 - CHAPTER TWENTY TWO

Patrick had returned home to have dinner with his sister, Chelsea. As they sat at the table, it was evident from Patrick's expression that something was deeply troubling him. Chelsea, perceptive as ever, sensed his distress and decided to inquire about it.

"Patrick, what's wrong? You seem upset," Chelsea said, her concern evident in her voice.

Patrick hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to articulate the shocking news he had received. Finally, he gathered his thoughts and responded, "Chelsea, have you and Christopher been having any issues? Have you had a fight recently?"

Confusion washed over Chelsea's face as she shook her head. "No, Patrick. We've been fine. Why do you ask?"

Taking a deep breath, Patrick revealed the unthinkable. "Christopher asked me to draft a marriage contract between him and someone named Gabriella."

A surge of anger coursed through Chelsea's veins, and her eyes widened in disbelief. The man she had fallen deeply in love with, the one with whom she had shared an intimate moment in the office just the day before, was now planning to marry someone else. The weight of insecurity bore down on her, questioning her worth and whether she was enough for Christopher.

Fury ignited within Chelsea, driving her to take a stand. She slammed her hand on the table, her voice filled with determination. "Patrick, I won't let this slide. Christopher will marry me and nobody else. I refuse to accept being cast aside for another woman after everything we've shared."

Patrick nodded, understanding the pain and anger consuming his sister. He had witnessed the depth of Chelsea's love for Christopher, and he knew she deserved better than to be treated this way. "I stand with you, Chelsea. We won't let him disregard your feelings and discard you like this."

A fire ignited in Chelsea's eyes as she made a solemn promise to herself. "I won't allow Christopher to diminish my worth. I will confront him and make him realize the gravity of his actions."

With determination driving her, Chelsea stood up from the table. Patrick followed suit, grabbing her arm. she was ready to face the tumultuous road ahead, ready to drive through the night to Christopher's residence but Patrick stopped her.

''It's best you confront him in the office'' Patrick spoke calmly

Chelsea's heart pounded with a mix of anger and determination. She couldn't let Christopher's actions go unaddressed. She quickly excused herself from the dinner table, her appetite vanished. Running upstairs to her bedroom, she needed a moment to collect her thoughts and regain her composure. Patrick, deeply empathetic, felt the weight of Chelsea's pain. He gave her the space she needed, knowing that her resolve was unyielding.

In her room, Chelsea took a deep breath, wiping away the tears that threatened to spill. She looked at herself in the mirror, her reflection reflecting a mixture of hurt and determination. "I won't allow Christopher to diminish my worth," she whispered to herself. "I will confront him and make him realize the gravity of his actions."

With newfound resolve, Chelsea straightened her posture and made her way back downstairs. Patrick, waiting patiently, looked up as she entered the room, concern etched on his face. "Are you alright, Chelsea?"

She gave him a nod, her voice filled with determination. "I will talk to Christopher at the office. You were right, Patrick. Confronting him here wouldn't be wise. The office is where he must face the consequences of his actions."

Patrick nodded in agreement, relieved to see Chelsea channeling her pain into a strategic approach. "I'll stand by your side, Chelsea. We'll face this together."
