"Long ago, when our people were at war with each other, half were dead and the others close to it. I was there that day, the day where 'he' came. He united us in the face of danger. When the gates opened. Where hunters of our kind started to show. They called themselves humans." Morgan looks at the two, the two with waiting eyes for him to continue. "These humans were made from the image of a new god, not one of the twelve gods. The god of humanity, as they called him. They were made to channel light and the magic of the world. Just like their god. Their god was named, The Saint. The humans were stronger and fought together well."
Morgan looking back in his mind on the day. "They were ruthless in killing, both young and old. The men and the women too. They had no honor, none of them did. Fighting dirty to win and collect us for parts or to take the ones that lived into a life of slavery. But with the help of our king-" "Yeah!! That's when papa showed up and beat the bad guys back into their world!!" Jessie and Victor told him quickly with excitement. "Yes, he did. He made them have to go back to their world, but that didn't stop them from coming back. They took their time to plan. They made teams of what they called hunters and heroes. They overpowered the king in a battle. Then they attacked him from behind and teamed up, like cowards."
"Hunters to this day still go to our world to take whatever they can. The humans are greedy and cruel." "That's why we had to leave, right mister Morgan?" Victor asked with tears in his eyes. "Yes, that's why. We live in the world of the humans. We hide in plain sight." "That's why we hide our tails and horns. Humans are the worst!!" Jessie complains. "And our wings, too." Victor points out.
"Ok, now it's really time for bed." Morgan turns off the lights and grabs a few blankets to the children. "Good night, Morgan!" Jessie said followed by her brother, Victor "Good night, mister Morgan!" Morgan watched as the two snuggled into their beds. Closing the door slowly and walking down the dark hall. "Well?" Jamison asked. "They are fine." "And asleep?" Asked Daniel. "Yes, and asleep." "Good, it's time to plan our next step." Jamison said, now walking back down the stairs to the dark room.
"They took everything from us, didn't they?" Daniel asked, staring at the floor. "Not everything. We have our king's hires, there's still hope." They both follow the way down after Jamison, in silence.
