Chapter 20 - Advent of Astral Part 17.5: Game of Games

If it was a game, Astral could easily manipulate the variables. Looking up to the ape walking toward him he would smile. "What is the game?" Astral would ask in a sly and cocky tone.

The Ape walking toward him stopped in his tracks as the center ape clapped. "He knows how delightful it is. Now how may you play the game?" The other three apes around the center ape all spun around clapping.

"What are the rules then?" Astral would ask. "Must be pretty simple for you guys to make it." All the apes would start to howl in laughter. Before they all became silent. They would all walk around him in a circle.

"The humans can't play this game, they are too weak. The humans are too slow, too stupid." The five of them would chant. Astral was slowly catching on. Trying to break the spirit.

"You apes would be worse off if humans never existed. Without us, how would you have inherited any of your knowledge?" Astral would taunt them. A game of cat and mouse.

The five would huddle up together. They all were thrown off on how well he knew and retained the knowledge. Before the five all returned to their futons. The center one speaking once more. "Why don't you eat, all humans do is feast themselves on delectables until they are diabetic?"

"So that's what you crave, human flesh as a hot commodity, but you couldn't farm them and feasted till they were gone." Astral was getting somewhere as their reactions soured as he spoke.

"Such a rude prune. Maybe his soul matches the color of his jacket." the leftmost one pointed at the jacket of Astral.

Astral looked down and thought just as quickly as they jabbed at him with. "Yes, I do have a heart of gold. Not for any of you to eat however." He would snicker as Alexa sat on top of his head being able to laugh about the jokes at the both of them. The apes wouldn't even use her against him.

"Well mannered people don't taste sweet." The center ape would speak. "Too bland."

"Have you tried adding spices?" Astral would have Alexa pull up a image of a pineapple.

"Crafty humans can't create chains of circular circumstances." The tallest ape would speak to the two.

"Alliteration, Astral's apple orchard archives ancient acceptable abilities as payment for a bundle of apples." Astral would be bored as the game wouldn't break him, or so he thought.

"Thinking is tiring and all you want to do is sleep forever." The rightmost ape would start to chant. The saying and sequence of it would have him falling into a rhythm with his foot. An offbeat melody to focus on rather than the chant.

"Sleeping forever means death when I have so much to live for rather than you disgusting apes. The goal of life is to explore and not to kill." Astral's golden trim would slowly glow and glimmer for itself. It was ready. An emergency trump card over these useless monkeys.

"See, isn't this fun, we haven't had anyone as strong willed as you in a long time." The center ape would clap once more as the chains suddenly pulled down tighter on Astral. He would be brought down lower, almost crouching as the apes were ready to start the real test.

"Humans would rip apart at that motion and yet, you still stay off the ground. Time to test you some more. How can you focus with salt in your eyes?" The rightmost ape would blow into his now open hand. Flowing directly into Astral's eyes. It would burn and sting as Alexa would fade away. The two were coming up with a plan.

Astral would remain silent. He didn't need to see to still win this war of words. "Do you have no taste that you consider salt a spice?" Astral would spit on the ground in front of him. He was slowly losing his patience with the apes.

As were the apes losing their patience with him. They wanted their meal. "Well, It seems like we must force you into submission. How would we do that?" The tall ape would start to slowly approach Astral.

"Now I shall just stall you out and make you starve." Astral had his thoughts clicking all on each cylinder. "In fact. It seems like you haven't had a proper meal in weeks. Only problem is I am special. Maybe even the most nutrient meal you will ever have."

Astral would see the saliva start to run from their mouths. It was working and he would start to giggle as all five of them would slowly approach him. They all thought he was plenty restrained as the chains would slowly pull down more against Astral.

Astral would begin to boom with laughter as the five of them all stopped in their tracks. Why was he so happy, what made him break. The center ape would comment. "You lost the game. Now it's time to pay the price of losing." They would all look at him in awe.

"No I do not think so, the saliva from all of your mouth's describes it clearly to me. You just like to eat humans. It makes you feel powerful as the dominant species on the planet?" Astral would question them as they all froze. He would continue onward with this theme.

"Your average human is around one hundred and twenty five thousand calories. I am many times more than that." He would smile as they would start twitching for the same craving. Ripping him limb from limb and feasting on him. He had a much different plan however.

"You told me right away that apes and humans are the same. Is that why no humans are left. You five killed them for your personal gain to become the dominant force on the planet." Astral felt the chains weaken as his smile grew. The apes had enough of their toy.

"Violence is for the strong, the weak just survive and struggle at that." The center ape would speak as the main ape in front of Astral would swing down on him.

Astral would yank the chains upward. Pulling all of the floor loose, having two flails attached to each arm he would laugh. The ape swung at him immediately, getting hit with all of the floor shrapnel. Astral would close the gap and swing the flails at the other four apes, knocking out two of them, leaving the center ape and the leftmost ape. "I shall be on my way now." His armor reappeared as it shattered the shackles.

The other two apes would charge at him as Astral would sprint and jump out of the mosaic glass work, landing on a tall building. Scaling it and making it back to orbit to head home once more.
