Chapter 22 - Advent of Astral Part 19: Orbit

One of the last planets with life was a hot planet with two suns. Astral would be viewing this planet from space as many ships flood from all around him, they all seemed to travel much faster than any spacecraft that he had ever seen. They would slowly enter the planet's orbit as Astral would wonder on what even was the point of ships.

"Something doesn't feel quite right about those ships." He would glare at the planet below and try to use a bioscan on the planet as a whole. But it seems like the sun's radiation is blocking all information. No, it's not that. Were the ships jamming the signal from his suit.

He would look to the armada forming behind him, More and more ships would be flooding in from all directions as he would see one of them slowly approaching him. Skeptical of any approach he would focus on an entry point inside of the ship.

A barrage of plasma would be fired in his direction. Several volley's would be sent at him. All gliding around him as he flew closer using his paws to close the gap and enter the ship.

He saw the hanger entrance and would flutter in as he felt the gravity of the ship properly working as he turned himself invisible. Clinging to the ceiling he would watch as many tall lizards enter the bay and stare around. Losing track of him they all would yell to each other to find the man.

He however would continue to cling to the ceiling and work on studying this technology that is several years beyond what humans are even close to. Landing on the railing he would quietly start to stalk the lizards walking through the tunnels.

He would see them turn one way and head the other, figuring with avoiding others is his best bet in order to study this more in detail. Making his way to the engine room he would look around and start to take pictures.

He would look at the power source, a highly advanced reactor, of fusion and fission at the same time. The energy output needed to power something to this magnitude and keep it cooled is a completely different story. The best part. Astral examined the vents. They led into space and were the main cooling agent for the ship.

Eventually two lizards would walk in and bump into an oblivious Astral still studying the reactor. They would both scream and holler pointing at Astral. Pulling out their blades and swinging down onto the man. Who would react by jumping backward and landing on a railing far away. They wouldn't dare fire any weapons in here.

Astral would look to slip out unnoticed. They could track him however as he would go to slide out a side door that was locked. His only way out was through. Looking to the gap between the two he would deactivate the invisibility of light bending. Looking at the two aliens they would instantly stop attacking.

"Wait, what are you two doing?" Astral would speak out confused. Landing back on the railing below as his paws were at the ready. The two of them stood dumbfounded.

"It's the very man the legends spoke of." The one with yellow padding would speak, the more senior of the two by the looks of it.

"Indeed, how is he here, and why does he not look to destroy us?" The younger looking of the two with red padding would speak.

Astral would just tilt his head in confusion. "I am here to learn more about cultures and history, not to cause violence." He would just turn around and start to study the reactor again, finally grasping the concept.

"What should we tell the commander?" The younger one would comment very confused on what Astral was trying to do.

"I would just leave him be. Let him be the one to make the first move." The senior would advise the younger one. "If he means to be peaceful then we will help him with what he pleases. The difference is, we don't anger him. The power he possesses is beyond our control." The senior would advise. Trying to show his mentee on what to do in scenarios he has no control.

"So we just get to leave him here in the halls?" The younger one looked at Astral as Astral was way too busy to even think about anything other than the science behind the reactors being able to power. He knows there are several ways to make things with more power. The problem is harnessing it.

"No, if we did, the commander would have our heads." The yellow one would point to the camera. "We can however guide him to what he would like to see." Pulling up a side note pad with all of their information.

"Does he know that we can also see his invisibility?" Astral's head would turn as hr easedropped. The smaller one would add on. "Light refraction is a wonderful ability. Do you wonder what else it could be used for?" The red one would walk over and be next to Astral changing his direction.

"I know the theories on it, and I would love to examine more uses from it." He would show the two of them a book on the light refraction, and the other uses on it.

"You are thinking of it all wrong. Harnessing it is all about the control aspect." The red lizard would speak as he would walk towards the exit, Astral following behind him like a toddler chasing their parent.

The yellow lizard would just watch as the other two would continue to talk about the applied sciences of kinetic energy conversion and mangatizing light in order to utilize the upmost effect from it.

They would make their way to the bridge as the rest of the crew across the shuttle would all applaud Astral. Giving him insight and tips about more things he would never have figured out otherwise. Each of these tips being helpful for him.

Once on the bridge, a lizard in white armor with silver trim would speak to Astral. "What brings the collector of souls out this far? You are a long way from earth." He would scold the man in the cyan armor.

"It's actually a very simple answer. I am here to learn more about the galaxy and the universe, which means I must learn more about you, your species and how you do what you have done in the past." Astral would be curious about the creatures.

The creature in the chair would just stare at him. "How curious, a tactician and a historian." He would swivel his chair and face away from Astral. "You realize that even we don't quite have a full understanding of these powers. Including the understanding behind you, or this universe."

"Its the perfect attempt to learn it all then." Astral would walk to the chair. "Why don't you shake my hand and have us team up for five days. Have our studies been shared and try to figure out more things? For both sides to gain." Astral would imply that both of them don't have the full story.

"You may have a deal, but you have to explain the question I have about earth." The commander would stand taller than Astral at its full height and extension. "Why are humans so violent?"

"It's all about being the most powerful. Being power hungry is a driving force that is nowhere near the thing that should be the driving force of humanity." Astral would be instant in his reply. Seems like these lizards also had a run in with the Aparazza.

"As for me. I say that knowledge is power and payment. For those who I choose to help I try to be repaid in non monetarily values. The problem lies in the values of others." Astral would explain. "Without knowledge. Everyone would be stuck at square one trying to survive rather than thrive."

The commander would motion with his hands for them to descend to the surface of the planet. "You have my condolences. Powerful people are the only ones who can rule. I admire your passion as it fuels you to be the best you can be." The Lizard would extend its hand out. "I shall be your ally as Campaign."

Astral would extend his hand as both of them shake on their deal. As they watched the shuttle descend the two would start to ask questions back and forth to each other. Each and every one of the staff on the bridge would be happy as they all got along.

Astral fidgeted with his hands as he was curious about something. "Why have you never invaded earth?" He would be curious about their ideals behind powers and why not earth.

Campaign would gleam at the question. "We have a way to test out planet's from orbit. Earth was considered a great location. Easy to take over and with the vast amount of resources on it. Would be critical to control."

"There was just one problem. There was one creature considered an anomaly on the planet. This sole creature had the forecast to completely halt any active invasion." He would point to Astral. "That anomaly is you."

"That makes a lot of sense." Astral would be writing down as many notes as he could on the notebook he had pulled out. Wondering if he wasn't there, if they would invade and how. With how the two of them had talked it wouldn't be close.

Astral would want to learn more about combat experience. To see what works and what doesn't. "As someone who properly leads armies. What works best tactic wise and what just sometimes flops?"

Campaign would look at him in awe. "Ah yes, the ability to adapt and overcome is the best thing to learn. Realize war is all about strategic effort to overwhelm and attack." He would show him some battle plans from the past.
