Chapter 38 - Advent of Astral Part 34: Alexandria

Astral and Jaimie had always been fascinated by the ancient city of Alexandria. They both knew of the history of this city and were glad to experience it for themselves. Particularly being here for its legendary library.

The two of them would go around the city, eating at a restaurant, and watching the library. Astral spoke. "When do you think it will happen? Anytime soon?"

"Well, based on what you have said, it's during a bright sunny day, and until the clouds clear it won't happen." Jaimie would look to the sky, the cool gray clouds looking down all over the city.

"Meaning the sun reflects off an object and starts a fire due to the books and how brittle they are. The books in there ignite well. The paper is a dry easy kindling." Astral would hold a book up and hand it over to Jaimie who would start reading it.

"Wait is this from the library?" She paused for a second. "Does that mean you were already there? It was supposed to be us together." Jaimie looked at the book and read it.

"Nah, realize when the first earth collapsed I took books from each library." He saw the clouds slowly drift over them. "My personal library is stuffed to the brim with all types of books. I have every book possible in my possession."

"Stored where?"

"In the pocket dimension. I have a database and they are all scanned in it. Meaning no need to expose those books to damage." Astral would hold out his hand as a soft glow came from it showing the catalog from his library.

The gleaming sun beating down on them would remind them of what their first goal was in the first place. "Astral, you smell that right?"

"I know I have told you I have a bad sense of smell." Astral would look up at her as she sighs and starts walking to the library. He would hop up and leave a good tip for the person running the food stand.

Astral walked behind her and would taunt her. "Oh, my female hormones are going nuts, there must be something wrong." Astral would laugh a bit as Jaimie cracked a smirk. "Oh, protecting everyone is my goal. Oh please let me save everyone." She would reach behind him and grab him by the collar to drag him along. Showing who was the dominant one.

"Look, the sun is at its peak, if you made less jokes you would've noticed it." She remarked as she dropped him. He flipped up and caught back up to her. As they made their way through the bustling streets of the city, Astral and Jaimie could see smoke rising in the distance. They quickened their pace, their hearts racing with anticipation. Knowing what the problem was.

When they arrived at the library, they were met with chaos. People were running in every direction, frantically trying to put out the blaze. Astral and Jaimie knew that they had to act fast if they were going to save the precious contents of the library. They would sprint in there to save the text.

Without hesitation, they sprang into action. Astral used his knowledge of the ancient architecture to guide them through the maze-like corridors of the library, while Jaimie used her quick reflexes and agility to dodge falling debris and navigate through the smoke-filled air.

Astral would direct the two of them though. "Think of this like an elaborate test. Grab everything that you can." He would start grabbing as many books as possible.

"Well no shit!" Jaimie would chirp back as she kicked a piece of falling debris away from her. Grabbing the nearby books and getting ready to move deeper into the firestorm in front of them.

As they made their way deeper into the library, the heat and smoke became more intense. But they pressed on, determined to save as many books and manuscripts as they could. Astral would hand a mask over to Jaimie. Invisible to all but them. It filtered the smoke allowing them to breathe easily.

Finally, they reached the heart of the library, where the flames were the most intense. But they were not deterred. With fierce determination, they worked together to carry armloads of books and scrolls out of the burning building, passing them off to volunteers who had come to help.

As the fire raged on, Astral and Jaimie continued their mission, tirelessly carrying armfuls of ancient texts out of the library. Finally, after what seemed like hours, the fire was extinguished, and the library was saved.

Exhausted but elated, Astral and Jaimie collapsed on the steps of the library, surrounded by the precious books and manuscripts they had saved. They knew that they had done something truly remarkable, and they felt a deep sense of pride knowing that they had helped to preserve the knowledge and history of an entire civilization.

The people around them would thank them and be glad to have some people brave the intense fire to save all of the textile. Astral and Jaimie would smile. Just happy that no one was harmed while they cleared the way for them.

Astral and Jaimie would be hailed as heroes. They would help to rebuild the library in their image, allowing for an automatic suppression system being built to save the library from ever burning again. With several other secret upgrades Astral put in.

As they gazed out at the city of Alexandria, now shrouded in smoke and ash, they knew that they had made a difference. And they vowed to continue their quest to preserve the knowledge and history of the ancient world, for the benefit of future generations.

Anders would come out and be with the two of them as they all read through the text. The three of them are sitting at the Starry Library. Named that way at the request of Astral and Jaimie. With a statue of the two erected in front of the building made by Astral.

"Astral, lots of this stuff is highly advanced math. Especially for the equipment they currently have access to. You haven't given them anything have you?" Anders asked, reading through the theorem papers inside the library.

"Not a single bit. Even my upgrades won't activate unless the library is under direct attack and the statues won't turn on unless it is a non-human threat on the planet." Astral handed her a tablet showing the new schematics and tricks Astral has hidden here.

"He went above and beyond, he also refilled the library with more information than before." Jaimie would pull out select books in the same style of the library but with modern information.

"I kinda want to see what civilization has to offer when it comes to progressing. I think after the Romans there will be no major war efforts by many countries and it will be under one unified banner come the eighteen hundreds." Astral could only speculate as the Romans were gaining power now before they would find these books.

"You think that way or you think you can manipulate the world into that shape?" Jaimie asked as Anders sat on her lap.

"A lot of these books have more to it then what Astral put on the surface, they all are coded in a certain way. Almost like if you solve the code." Anders trailed off as Jaimie finished her statement.

"That they get access to a secret library with more information locked behind it. Clever way to hide it for the future and influence it. Who says it won't be solved by the Romans?" Jaimie asked with a curious tone.

"Curiosity kills the cat." Astral pulled out a map featuring the current Roman empire. "We are going to stage a revolution. Hope you are ready to be a gladiator trainer in Capua."

"You aren't saying what I think you are right?" Jaimie would look at him and he smiled. "You want to join Spartacus and his uprising?"

"That's the plan if Rome falls, it's the last strong empire that can reach this library." Astral would snap his finger as his outfit changed. "Now we have a rebellion to join." He would extend his hand to Jaimie as Anders saw the portal to the pocket dimension. Hopping through and prepping the popcorn. Astral and Jaimie would head north.
