Astral would take off his helmet. Looking over to the crowded scientists he would ask. "Who was the one who said to wait to kill me? Be honest cause I just wanna learn more about what I even am." His emotion flooded the room with uneasiness and positivity for one person.
Doctor Anders charges forward. "Woah, a specimen who is able to survive the weight of a full armor bodysuit, and who can move faster than the human eye. I am fascinated." She had her clipboard out and was taking several notes down. Estimating his strength and speed based on what she saw. "You must be Overlord then correct? The one that kills with no mercy?" She would be hopping around with joy, she could actually interview one of the subjects of her unusually long lifelong project.
Astral tilted his head. "No, I don't go by that, but what about we call me, Astral. Seeing as how this project is named Star, I feel like it fits well." He smiled at her his beaming smile slowly filling everyone else with confidence. She instantly fell in love.
'A specimen who cares for me and just wants to learn.' she was fluttering about looking at him. "My heart is skipping beats, what do you want to learn? There is so much to go over. Starting from the beginning all the way to now?" she paused, "I also hope you don't mind if I take a blood sample and run a couple of physical tests do you? For science's sake?" she was looking up to him begging. She was a puppy dog begging for the slightest bit of attention.
"I want to learn everything about project star, and why it is so secretive." He took a second to collect himself, he was rattled by her enthusiasm for him. "Seeing how you are helping me. I guess I can let you run some tests, because it will also help me figure out more about myself. Because now the entire universe is a giant untapped goldmine of knowledge." He took a second as his head floated upwards. All of the history to be learned. What a joyous occasion.
"Great, now follow me and I will tell you everything." Ander's would start walking down the hallway as Astral now watches her closely as they go down the hall. "After the bloody harvest, we lost all the chips containing the symbiotic aliens which enhance just one feature of a human, however, it seemed like a few of them got repressed by the alpha of the aliens. When we gave the original one to Matt nothing changed but his body became stronger instantly. Did you come across this or not?"
"Well, I have no recollection of when I got my powers, when I was cornered was the first time I used it. I absorb lots of knowledge, and that's great and all but my physical gifts aren't anything special." He would think back to his past. There was never a large jump in his strength until the gap between his sophomore year and junior year of high school. Is that what she is referring to?
"Well it sounds like you were born with it, which would line up to when the powers went dormant. It was with a person who could control themselves. Which is great. It means that the odds of something bad happening due to the powers is slim to none. Say what age did you stop aging at?" Anders was scribbling notes all on her clipboard.
"Well, I've compared photos of myself for the last thirty years, and they haven't changed. So I think I stopped aging around age twenty." He would respond rather quickly. "What about you doctor, you seem to know a lot about me, when were you born?"
She would open the door to her office. Looking him in the eyes. "You know it's rude to ask a lady her age, but if you must know, I am over one hundred and fifty years old." A look of befuddlement would fall upon Astral, she didn't look a day over forty. She took a second to go into her office and prepare some of her equipment. "I think during the bloody harvest. The alien symbiote decided to let me live to serve you." She pulled out a folder full of papers filled with details about every 'Astral' incident. "Now sit and strip big boy. Momma has some tests she wants to run."
"Hold the fuck up. I will take my armor off, but I am not getting naked." He spoke as he pressed a button and his suit would go into stealth mode, showing his clothes. "Besides, what are you looking for from me anyways?"
"Well, I want to look at the back of your neck for a birthmark, because that's where we had implanted the original alien chip. I want to see your muscle density and take some bodily measurements. Which could help further my studies." She grabs a ruler from her desk, smacking Astral's hand.
"Now I said strip or so help me I will make you eat your own ass." Astral waving his hand out of fake pain takes off just his shirt. He looks at her like she is crazy. Another ruler smack later and he takes off his pants as well. She goes around his body taking note of each and every muscle, noting the scar on the back of his neck.
"Good news, you are a completely healthy human. Bad news, you can never go out in public again." Astral was too busy reading the papers. "Well you are a healthy human male who stands at five foot ten inches. Cyan eyes and black hair. No scars are apparent outside of the incision mark on the back of your neck, and you seem to be a great specimen and primed to live for as long as you want." She smiled at him. He was way past distracted. He hit a dam near nirvana.
"Woah, each one of these instances, how you merged each one of them together, all of it is here?" He pointed to the first few pages of notes. They listed how each chip was mentally destabilized, made to combine with each other. Until there was one singular chip. This chip was then subjected to several tests to test their knowledge. Once they were completed. They brought in a squad of weakened men who volunteered for combat, but couldn't pass the strength tests. After the event the government called Bloody Harvest, they went under extensive testing of Anders, on why she didn't melt, outside of the properties and contents of the asteroid. On these papers it showed that the contents of it all were dissolved outside of one item. A personal companion.
"Well as you read it was as simple as manipulating their thoughts against them." Anders responded to her comment. Going over to a drawer and pulling out the artificial companion. Handing it to Astral he accepted this small cube. It melted into his hand. Seemingly merging with him. Once it had fully disappeared, a small little creature appeared in the palm of his hand. Smiling, a lady with a cyan hue matching his eyes, long hair tied up, and a nice skin tight outfit.
"Hello I am your personal assistant. Alexa, a creation of your thoughts manifested into a helper." She would beam towards Astral. "How may I serve you master?"
"Oh my you are so adorable." He smiled as he looked down at it. "What do you do for me? Teach me about the universe and the different histories?"
"Nope, I keep your inner thoughts under control and make sure you don't die in a dumb way." She smiled.
"Wait, question. If you are my forever companion, do you know how long I will live for?" Astral would ask.
"No, I do not know for how long you will live, for you are still susceptible to human weakness, however age is now a non-factor. You can live forever. Only dying when your body is dissolved into ash." Alexa answered. "As for that kind lady over there, she has the same fate as us. Why? Well, when she got showered in the blood, it made her locked in that age. She now no longer ages, and it will allow her to serve you for as long as you wish."
Anders smiled. "Well, that's great, I will be able to love this hunk of something forever. While studying him for lifetimes." She hugged him as he looked at her, in awe.
"Is there any other useful information you can inform me of?" Astral spoke.
"Yes, you will be concerned about this, your student, the one who gave you the paper on Project Star, just got brought into the FBI headquarters." Alexa pulled up a screen showing the camera of what was happening inside the interrogation room. She was being tricked and assaulted. Like she was a second class citizen.
