Isabella roamed around the library, scanning the shelves for any book that could provide a clue on how to break the curse. Azazel followed her, keeping a close eye on her every move. She felt his presence distracting and turned to him, "Azazel, please go take a seat. You're distracting me."
Azazel hesitated for a moment before nodding and moving to one of the chairs. Isabella took a deep breath, glad to have a moment of peace. But just as she was about to pick up a book, the door opened, and Sarah walked in.
"Isabella!!" Sarah exclaimed as she hugged her friend. "I'm glad you are here, Sarah," Isabella said. Sarah smiled and then replied," Sweetheart, you know I would always help you with your store whenever am in the Country." Isabella smiled at her, "Thanks for coming," she said. Sarah nodded then turned to the counter to drop her bag, just then she saw Azazel sitting in a corner looking at her with a strong stare.
Sarah chuckled when she saw how handsome Azazel was. Then she quickly pulled Isabella aside asking, "Who is that handsome guy over there?"
Isabella looked at Azazel knowing she couldn't reveal his identity, she darted at him pleading with her eyes, for him not to speak. Then she turned to Sarah and replied," He is my boyfriend."
Sarah's eyes widened in surprise when Isabella introduced Azazel as her boyfriend. She had never heard Isabella mention anything about a boyfriend before, and she was even more surprised to see such a handsome man with Isabella.
"Your boyfriend? Wow, Isabella, why didn't you tell me you had a man in your life?" Sarah teased with a smirk on her face. Isabella could feel her cheeks turn pink with embarrassment. "I'm sorry, Sarah. I didn't mean to keep it from you. It's just that Azazel and I are still getting to know each other, and I didn't want to jinx it," Isabella replied, hoping that Sarah would drop the topic.
Sarah didn't seem to notice Isabella's discomfort and continued to ask questions about Azazel, who was still sitting quietly in the corner, watching the two women talk.
"He seems like a catch, Isabella. How did you two meet?" Sarah asked, leaning in with curiosity. Isabella hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to answer the question. She didn't want to reveal the true circumstances of how she had met Azazel and the curse that was attached to him.
"We met through mutual friends," Isabella finally said, trying to sound casual. Azazel's eyes flickered towards her briefly before he looked away again.
Sarah nodded, seemingly satisfied with the answer. "Well, he seems like a great guy. You'll have to introduce us properly," she said pulling Isabella to where Azazel was sitting.
Isabella smiled weakly, already regretting her decision to introduce Azazel as her boyfriend. She just hoped that Sarah wouldn't ask too many questions about their relationship and that Azazel wouldn't reveal his true identity.
Sarah eagerly pulled Isabella towards Azazel, wanting to meet Isabella's mysterious new boyfriend. As they approached, Isabella introduced Sarah to Azazel with a smile, but Azazel's response was not what she expected.
"I have no business with your friend, get her out of my sight and get back to your research!" Azazel's sharp words cut through the air like a knife, leaving Sarah's smile transformed into a frown.
"I don't care if you're Isabella's boyfriend, but you need to tame your tongue," Sarah retorted, taking a step back from Azazel's piercing gaze.
Isabella quickly intervened, blocking Sarah from Azazel's view and smiling sweetly at him. "Sweetheart, remember our promise," she said, hoping to calm him down.
Azazel's eyes softened as he looked at Isabella. "Of course, my love," he replied, his voice much gentler than before. "I apologize for my rudeness, Sarah.
Sarah nodded, still unsure about Azazel's sudden change in attitude.
Isabella's heart was pounding as she pulled Azazel up from his seat and led him to the restroom. She knew that she had to confront him about what had happened with Sarah, and she was determined to make him see reason.
Once they were in the restroom, Isabella turned to face Azazel, her eyes flashing with anger. "What just happened back there?" she yelled. "Were you trying to harm my friend?"
Azazel's eyes narrowed as he glared at Isabella. "Have you forgotten our deal?" he growled. "I promised not to harm anyone or destroy anything, but that doesn't mean I have to be polite to everyone you bring into our space."
Isabella took a step back, feeling the weight of Azazel's power bearing down on her. She knew that he could crush her with a single thought, and she was afraid of what he might do if she pushed him too far. But she was also angry, and she refused to back down.
"Azazel, you don't have to keep reminding me of your powers," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "We had a deal yesterday, and you promised to control your temper and your actions. You can't just go around threatening people, especially not my friends."
For a moment, Azazel's eyes blazed with anger, but then he seemed to realize the truth of what Isabella was saying. His eyes softened, and he took a step closer to her.
"I'm sorry," he said, his voice quiet. "You're right. I shouldn't have reacted like that. I just...I get so frustrated sometimes. It's hard for me to control my impulses."
Isabella sighed, feeling a rush of relief wash over her. She knew that Azazel was dangerous, but she also knew that he was trying to do better. She reached out and took his hand, squeezing it gently.
"I know," she said. "But we have to keep working on it. For both of our sakes."
