I tried my best to focus on the fact that I needed to have some work done, but still the doctor's words kept echoing in my head. At some point, I seem to flare up in the conference room, but then I have to force myself to believe the fact that the shareholders aren't to be blamed here.
Normally, in a conference meeting the secretaries only serve champagne or water, but today I asked that they serve me a scotch. If not for it, I might have lost my mind. After the meeting, I couldn't concentrate on anything else apart from the fact that my baby's health is in a critical condition.
I was supposed to meet investors which I told Valerie I met, but actually, I canceled the appointment I had and went to the elite restaurant's personal VIP area because I needed to smoke.
