Chapter 75 - CHAPTER 75

San Francisco, in a rarely visited dark corner.

A mysterious figure, concealed entirely in a black robe, was desperately fleeing. The once pristine black robe was now covered in dust, dirt, and dried bloodstains.

Three elder figures wearing crimson robes were chasing after the mysterious person from a distance. Their robes were identical in style, differing only in color.

Due to their elderly bodies, the three crimson-robed elders were gradually falling behind the mysterious figure.

If it weren't for the exhaustion from several days of continuous escape, the mysterious figure would have eluded them long ago.

"Hurry, the Goddess Raven is ahead!" one of the crimson-robed elders shouted frantically, "Only by bringing back the Goddess can our god descend!"

"I am not the so-called Goddess Raven, and my father is not a God! He is just an evil demon who has deceived all of you!" the fleeing Raven retorted with gritted teeth, exerting all her strength as she ran.

"You're just a bunch of old men who can barely keep up. It's best to give up on catching me!" she added as she continues running.

"Goddess Raven, you cannot defy our god's will! You can never defy... the Trigon!" the crimson-robed elder fervently exclaimed.

"Great Trigon! Bestow us with power to retrieve the Goddess!" the three crimson-robed elders knelt on the ground, closing their eyes and chanting incomprehensible incantations.

In an instant, as if in response to their summons, an eerie energy surged into their bodies. The three crimson-robed elders rapidly regained their youth, and their physiques expanded, tearing apart their robes and revealing blood-red skin.

Demonic horns sprouted from their heads, but the most striking were the extra pair of eyes on their faces.

These four eyes had no pupils, emitting an eerie yellow light.

"Power! I feel infinite power within me! Thanks to our god—the Great Trigon! We will bring the Goddess to you!" the three transformed into demon warriors ecstatically shouted.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

The three demon warriors chased after the running Raven at a speed surpassing the fastest car in the world.

In just a few seconds, they caught up with her.

"Darn it! These people have already sold their souls to Trigon!" the Raven cursed silently. She knew that these people had completely lost themselves, becoming nothing but slaves to Trigon's dark magic.

"Mortals who have sold their souls to Trigon can no longer escape his control. They will relentlessly hunt me down, and even if I manage to escape, they will harm other innocent people... I cannot let Trigon's minions remain in the mortal realm!"

In an instant, Raven steeled her resolve. She ceased her fleeing and turned to face the demonic warriors created by Trigon's power.

Mysterious black energy enveloped her entire body, and above her head, a massive raven silhouette manifested.

"Trigon's warriors may be immortal, but I will send you inferior demons back to hell!" she declared.

Shortly afterward, at Star Labs, San Francisco branch...

"Huff..."

Carefully, Yuri loaded the similar gene analysis chip onto the omnitrix and tested to ensure that the watch's original transformation function remained unaffected. He let out a sigh of relief.

Unfortunately, he didn't have any DNA samples on hand to test if the similar gene analysis system would function properly. However, Yuri wasn't too worried about this issue. After all, he had joined a "superhero organization" - would he still be concerned about not having any foes to fight? As long as there were adversaries, DNA samples would flow continuously into Yuri's hands.

"After I go back, I must get a good night's sleep."

Finally finishing his work, Yuri's tensed nerves could finally relax, and a wave of fatigue washed over him.

After tidying up his workstation, Yuri left Star Labs and returned to the Titan Tower.

Just as he was about to head upstairs to his room to get some rest, he heard someone calling out to him from behind.

"Yuri, where were you?"

Turning around, Yuri saw Bart, who was now dressed in his Impulse uniform instead of his usual orange casual clothes.

It dawned on Yuri that today was already Friday, the day when the Teen Titans gathered together.

He had returned just in time.

"Are you the only one who came, Bart? What about Tim and Connor?"

Yuri asked in confusion.

"Oh, I was the last one to arrive this time. They all got here before me."

Bart scratched his head and grinned.

Upon hearing this, Yuri was speechless. Based on what he had observed over these days, he was already certain that being late was some sort of tradition in the Flash family.

The last time, Bart arrived first at the Titan Tower was because he had come with Yuri.

"Oh, by the way! There was a significant event in San Francisco today. Everyone is discussing it in the Titan Hall, and you are the only one missing. Gar said you were in Star Labs, so he sent me to find you."

At that moment, Bart suddenly realized and urgently said to Yuri, "A few seconds ago, I arrived at Star Labs, and they told me you had already left. So, I came back, and I didn't expect to run into you right at the entrance of Titan Tower."

"Take a breath, Bart, and tell me clearly. What exactly happened?" Yuri patted Bart's shoulders, signaling him to get to the point.

"A few hours ago, someone witnessed three demons in the abandoned city area near Hunter's Point! And there was a girl fighting against those demons!" Bart spread his hands, his face filled with astonishment. "The witness recorded a video on their phone and uploaded it to YouTube. Robin has confirmed that the video is authentic. There are actually demons in this world, and they invaded San Francisco!"

Yuri wasn't too surprised; he already knew from Cassie that Greek gods were real, so it was plausible that other myths could also be true. Demons in the world were not that shocking.

Considering that Bart was from the 30th century, he shouldn't be unaware of these things. He probably hadn't paid much attention when his mother told him bedtime stories from a thousand years ago.

Yuri knew it would be challenging to get the crucial information from Bart, so he took him directly to the Titan Hall.

There, the enormous screen they previously used to contact Superman and Wonder Woman descended again, but this time, the person reaching out to them was neither Superman nor any other member of the Justice League. It was a middle-aged man with blonde hair and blue eyes, dressed in military uniform.

Yuri recognized him at first glance. He was the head of the A.R.G.U.S, the man who frequently appeared in front of the camera and took care of the dirty work for the Justice League - Steve Trevor.
