Chapter 76 - CHAPTER 76

Facing the screen, Starfire, Robin, Superboy, Wonder Girl, and Beast Boy stood side by side, listening to Trevor's words on the screen.

"... Although ARGUS removed the video from the internet immediately after it was published, more than five hundred thousand people have already viewed it. I'm afraid we all will be busy in the coming days."

"The Justice League is aware of the incident involving the suspected demons in San Francisco, and they are closely monitoring the situation."

Yuri and Bart's sudden appearance didn't faze Trevor; he continued to narrate the seriousness of the situation, which had already alarmed the Justice League.

"It won't be long before they head to San Francisco to investigate the truth behind these demon sightings."

"What!"

Superboy and Robin exclaimed simultaneously.

"Superman and Batman promised that the League won't interfere with the Teen Titans' actions in San Francisco!"

"Conner and Tim are right. Whether they are demons or other mutated beings, we can handle it."

Gar supported, revealing his dislike for using his brain, but he still had a sense of honor and pride in the Teen Titans.

The situation in San Francisco was something that the Teen Titans could definitely handle, right?

"Trevor, we have known each other for a long time, and you should know that the Titans don't like the League meddling in our affairs," Starfire said with a frown.

"Haha, don't be so upset, Starfire. I haven't finished yet," Trevor teased, winking at them.

"Before contacting you, I already talked to the Justice League. Can you guess what I said to them?"

At Trevor's words, the faces of Robin and the others brightened; it seemed like there might be a turning point in the situation.

"That's right, I persuaded the League to temporarily refrain from intervening in this incident. The task of investigating the demons and the mysterious girl is now entrusted to you, the Teen Titans."

Trevor's response filled them with immense surprise.

"But why, Mr. Trevor? Why do you trust us with this task? While I have confidence in my team, the Teen Titans currently lack experience. This is a high-threat event that might involve demons from Hell. Wouldn't it be better to assign it to that jerk from London?" Tim asked thoughtfully.

"Now that you've asked, I'll tell you the truth. The Congress has been pressuring me lately to introduce some 'reliable' new members into the Justice League. We managed to get away with using reserve members as an excuse before, but now they demand official members."

"The candidates they recommended have impeccable records, with the best abilities and experience. However, both the League and I don't want those old folks' choices to infiltrate the Watchtower."

Trevor's expression suddenly turned serious, and he continued solemnly, "You all are students of Justice League veterans, and you are the ones I and the League absolutely trust. Only by joining the League can I rest assured, and this will also silence those politicians who keep chanting, 'Seven people are not enough to protect the Earth.'"

"So, you must complete a high-difficulty task that will draw people's attention to become members of the Justice League naturally. Today's mission is just the beginning. Considering your lack of experience, I've arranged a helper for you, and he should be arriving at your location soon."

Finally, Trevor concluded, "Until you have conclusive results from your investigation, the Justice League won't interfere with your actions, but we will closely monitor your progress."

"Show yourself well, kids."

With the words spoken, the call ended.

"The Justice League! I'm joining the Justice League? Does this mean I can fight bad guys with Grandpa?"

Excited, Bart shouted beside Yuri.

At this moment, the others noticed that two more people had entered the hall.

"Yuri, you're back." Starfire greeted Yuri, "You spent quite a few days in the Star Labs, I'm sure you've gained a lot."

"That can wait for now. Can someone explain to me what exactly these demons are?" Yuri looked at the group and asked.

After some time, Yuri watched a video and fell into deep thought.

In the video, three extremely red demon warriors were besieging a figure dressed in a black robe... a magic girl, perhaps? In any case, the mysterious girl fighting the demons used some kind of black energy that transformed in complex ways, not quite like ordinary superpowers.

But speaking of which, when Yuri looked at those three demons with their red skin, bulging muscles, and four eyes, they seemed oddly familiar. Take away the horns on their heads and add two hands, and Yuri wouldn't believe they weren't Tetramands.

Even their fighting style was remarkably similar; these three demon warriors used only their fists throughout the battle, without resorting to any dark magic or summoning hellfire.

Honestly, it was more believable to call them genetically mutated individuals than demons. But why was everyone associating them with demons? Well, it was probably because of what happened next in the footage.

The mysterious girl formed black energy tentacles that wrapped around one of the demons' necks. She pulled with force, and shockingly, she directly decapitated the demon!

Even more surprising was the fact that despite losing its head, the demon didn't die.

Do you think it grew a new head? Or that it can still talk after its head was separated? Just putting the head back will revive it?

None of that is true!

The moment the head was separated, the demon's body immediately turned into countless red particles and scattered. Then, a strange blood-red magic circle appeared on the ground.

The demon reappeared intact, rising from beneath the magic circle.

Not only deadly injuries, any harm inflicted on them by the mysterious girl would instantly heal.

The fight only ended when the magical girl used a powerful spatial magic to teleport the three demons to an unknown location.

After using this magic, the girl showed clear signs of exhaustion, having likely expended a significant amount of physical or magical energy.

Then, she left the scene, walking away slowly.

The entire battle process wasn't long, lasting less than two minutes.

As for the witness who recorded the video, he didn't die but was found trembling in a corner. Even half an hour after the girl left, his legs were still shaking.

Though an organization has taken care of him and protected him, so the Teen Titans don't need to worry about that aspect.

"After watching this, what do you think, Yuri?" Tim suddenly asked.

"Those demons were after that girl, perhaps they were chasing her. I believe she is the key to this event," Yuri replied.

"I suspect there might be more demons coming to San Francisco," Tim nodded.

"My thoughts exactly, and currently, this is our only lead. We must find her quickly; the battle exhausted her too much, and she shouldn't have gone far."
