Chapter 144 - Chapter 144: Paris

The next morning, Arthur packed his luggage and headed to the airport.

Fleur had been sending him letters urging him to come, and the World Alchemy Summit was about to happen.

After Arthur went there, he also needed to meet with Nico to get an update on the situation.

The plane took off quickly, and two hours later, Arthur arrived in Paris.

As soon as Arthur walked out of the airport, he was drawn to a beautiful figure.

It wasn't just him; almost everyone looked in that direction unconsciously.

Suddenly, it seemed like the girl spotted the person she was waiting for and quickly ran towards the exit.

"Arthur!"

Fleur excitedly ran to Arthur's side and hugged him as if she wanted to integrate herself into his embrace.

Arthur also smiled and hugged the girl, softly smelling the scent coming from her hair and appreciating the fact that Fleur was more mature.

Fleur felt something strange about Arthur as well, blushed, and pulled away from his embrace.

"Arthur, you've grown taller."

Fleur's expression seemed a bit dazed.

It had been a year since they last saw each other, and Arthur was now slightly taller than her. Last year, he was actually shorter.

And more handsome. His facial features had developed slowly, clearing some childishness and gaining a youthful and confident air.

"What's wrong? Is it because Beauxbatons doesn't have any handsome guys that you keep staring at me like that?"

Fleur rolled her eyes when Arthur teased her. But Fleur didn't let go of his hand and linked her arm to his, leading him out the door.

The combination of a handsome young man and a beautiful girl attracted people's attention.

Instead of taking Arthur directly to Nicolas's castle, Fleur decided to walk through the streets of Paris with him.

Along the way, Fleur talked to Alvin about her experiences over the past year, what magic she had learned, and the exciting things that happened at school.

Arthur listened carefully and asked a few questions.

Arthur always felt guilty about what he did to Fleur.

Arthur didn't get to spend as much time with Fleur as he did with Cho and Hermione. He could only visit her in Paris during the summer break.

Because of this, Arthur enjoyed his time with Fleur even more. They walked around the busy streets of Paris together.

On the way, a little girl suddenly stopped them.

"Mister, would you like to buy a bouquet of flowers for your sister?"

Looking at the roses in the little girl's hand, Arthur smiled and replied warmly, "Sure, I'll buy all the flowers you have."

The little girl was overjoyed by Arthur's response. She handed him the flowers and happily left with the money.

Arthur held the bouquet and handed it to Fleur.

At that very moment, the roses changed into something else.

The once-dried-out look changed quickly into a bright, sparkling sheen, making it look beautiful.

Fleur covered her mouth as she stared in shock at the roses in front of her. She held them like they were the most precious things in the world, and then she gave Arthur a big kiss.

They kissed boldly in public, but no one was interested. When Alvin did the Transfiguration on the flowers, he already blocked the Muggles' ability to see them.

Until late at night, Arthur was escorted to the entrance of Nicolas's castle by Fleur.

"How about I don't go back?"

Arthur looked at Fleur while he was feeling a little bit restless.

Fleur lightly tapped Arthur and teased, "Don't be funny, little brother."

Arthur felt a bit frustrated. After all, he was still young.

As he watched Fleur being taken away by a carriage, he entered a nearby cafe.

The house-elf, Sean, was already waiting inside and hurriedly greeted Arthur when he saw him.

Arthur smiled and greeted him, saying, "Long time no see, Sean."

"It is my honor to see you again, Master Arthur."

Then the two of them returned to the castle.

Since it was late, Arthur didn't go to find Mr. Nicolas and Mrs. Perenelle.

Instead, he returned to the room where he slept last year, cleaned himself up, and went to sleep.

The next day, Arthur saw Mr. Nicolas and Mrs. Perenelle in the living room.

The old couple was happy to see Arthur, especially Mrs. Perenelle, who took Arthur's hand and asked about his recent activities.

They talked for more than an hour before Mr. Nicolas, who had been waiting impatiently, stopped them.

"Okay, you've been talking to Arthur all the time. There's no need for so much to say in person."

Mrs. Perenelle glared at Mr. Nicholas angrily, saying, "You can't express everything clearly in a letter. If you're impatient, then don't wait."

But Mrs. Perenelle knew that they had important things to talk about, so she said a few more words and left, leaving them alone in the living room.

Nicolas chuckled and looked at Arthur.

"You met Fleur yesterday, right?"

Arthur gave a speechless glance at the nosy old man, who was over 600 years old, but he didn't take the bait.

Instead, he asked directly, "What's this Alchemy Summit you mentioned?"

Nico didn't bother with Arthur's attempt to change the subject and answered, "It's nothing special. A few old folks and I just get together every five years for a trade. They'll bring some people with them for exchange."

Nicolas's words sounded relaxed, but Arthur didn't underestimate how important this exchange was.

Nicolas would never call someone an "old folk" if they were just a normal person. This should be the highest-level alchemy exchange in the world.

"Do I need to do anything?"

Arthur wanted to know some details so that he could prepare properly in the next few days.

"No, just attend with Kevin and the others. I believe those old folks will be speechless when they see Kevin."

Nicolas's face was already filled with a sly smile as he said this.
