Arca was awaited to find herself in a dimly lit room where it was just herself and the human member of the former Rotune party.
"About time you woke up as you are going to be helping me spread the name of Rotune across the world," he said
"What are you talking about that name is already spread across the world already," she told him
"The name of the group may be but I am assuming that name for myself now as there are things I want to do and people I want to attempt to draw out," Rotune said explaining that he had taken the name as his own now "The former me is dead so what use would my old name be for me anyway. Though you will retain your current name even after I am done with you"
Arca then looked confused as then she noticed her body was starting to glow. Then she just exploded leaving herself charred and her fur fizzed from the explosion. Though she then instantly healed from this state back to her normal undamaged and unharmed self. However, while she might have been healed the pain that she was put through was still present in her mind. The bodily harm was healed in an instant but the mental pain was still there and affecting her.
"I learned quite a lot about our races and the favor the humans of that time did after you three left me in that place to die. Something that would later become the greatest regret of the human race as the consequence was so out of expectations. Yet thinking about and how the other three races went with it was completely expected though.
Arca did not know what he was talking about but that is when she was subjected to constant explosions as her kind's body was not meant for this. What she was experiencing was her body using mana instead of ki. The bodies of beasts were not compatible with mana to the point where attempts to use resulted in the violent reaction of their bodies. The exploding as Arca was currently going through it seems this was the most extreme reaction when placed in such a scenario where as a beast race member she was made to take in too much mana. How her body was even able to do this was shocking to her
"Amazing how different the three other races were back then compared to now. If you are wondering why or what the ancestors of your race were like. I am telling you now they were clearly not the attackers that they are today. However, somehow their choices back then are affecting the lives of those in the present like you and me interestingly" Rotune told her.
Arca could not respond even if she wanted to as she experience the pain of her body exploding from mana overload yet healing almost instantly every time to prevent her death. So the Rotune as he now wanted to be called was talking at her not so much to her knowing she can not respond but just wanting her to know this information as he somehow was not allowing her to pass out despite everything he was putting her through.
Rotune kept this up to the point somehow her body just naturally healed on its own. Using the healing magic used on itself as if was second nature. That was not the only thing that she had learned through it being forced upon her through experiencing it over and over again over a prolonged period. The ability to take in mana was craved into her body through the same process and with mind control magic being placed on Arca. She spend all her waking moments exploding and healing thanks to what Rotune was calling part one of his revenge on her.
Again he would appear before her at a time while she was lying there on the ground exploding and healing in an endless cycle to talk at her about various things he had been through since she and the other members of the group had betrayed him. She was forced to listen through the endless torture he was putting her through not really sure why he was telling her all of this as it did not make sense but she was not going to let this break her. He was back but he was not the same person that he was before he took up the name of Rotune.
Rotune as he was now calling himself was insane as he was clearly someone that had shattered in pieces mentally but somehow managed to piece their mind back together again. However, the cracks were still present within in his mind clearly as he merely glue something broken back together again as that much was clear to Arca.
As she went through the process for she did not know how long now as she had lost track of time as she was in this dimly lit room with no windows nor doors. It was just herself, the sounds of her own body exploding from an extreme case of mana overload, and her own thoughts. How Rotune was able to even do something like this was no longer something she even cared about anymore. Sure her body taking in too much mana and then healing was now something she was doing herself without his hand being a part of this at all. Though what he was doing was seemingly maintaining the mind control magic or whatever he had done to her that caused her to do both of the previous things constantly against her own free will.
'Here he is again coming to talk to me as usual' Arca thought to herself
"Man look at you go as you were one failure of a modern beast race member but surely there would have been a time when you would not have been," he said after placing down a chair to start his usual talk at her
This would be where he would inform her of the various things about her life that were a lie and along with the hows and the whys she was a failure that had no one on her side for her entire life. Of course, that could not be true as she had to have at least one person that was on her side out of everyone that she had ever met entirely now.
According to Rotune, she did have one person that had been on her side. That was not lying to her as she knew that had to be the case thus somehow she was making through this torture that he was not letting up on. There were three people that she never heard him mention by name as someone that never cared for her and always saw her as a failure. Her parents and the one person he claims was on her side, thus she was sure at least one of her parents had to be that person that accepted her for her.
Arca was not going to let Rotune win as he was not going to break her since she had broken yet despite everything she had been put through because she knew there was at least one person in her life that had cared for her after all. That was what was keeping her going though she did not realize that Rotune was smiling as he knew exactly what was going on within her head as painfully clear to him after all. Arca and he were very similar after all thus he could read her like a book without needing to use magic to do so
