I followed Azger through the dark halls of the palace, unable to help the pain in my chest. I hated lying to Lin, but Azger had insisted it was necessary, as they were taking a huge risk by taking me to wherever we were going. It was not a place that I was allowed to go, and I tried to shake away the heavy thoughts in my head.
I had woken up in Azger's room in the Underworld, just as they had planned, and they gave me no time as they motioned for me to follow. I knew Lin and Lee would be able to return to the house without any of us being there, and I could only hope the note Azger had given to Lin would be enough to explain what we were doing.
