I groaned softly as I woke up, the sunlight on my face only serving to annoy me more as I turned away from it. I heard a throaty laugh from the coffin next to me, and I quickly sat up, unable to help the worry that filled my chest.
Luc was sitting next to me, a slight smile on his face while he looked down at me. Mist leaked from his open coffin, and I noticed that the sunlight… didn't reach him. It simply stopped, for a lack of better words, at the edge of bed, as if a wall of darkness was protecting Luc from its effects. I looked up to those crimson eyes with shock and Luc merely chuckled again.
"I slept for a bit, but I wanted to be awake once you woke up." He offered, glancing to where the sunlight ended at my bed. "It would seem… I don't die anymore."
