Silas merely stared at me, his eyes wide with both confusion and awe. He slowly turned his gaze to Luc, and something darker entered his eyes.
"Bellas you said nothing about a demon–"
"Stop speaking from that dumb brain of yours and look at him." Bellas interrupted, fluffing his wings as he crossed his arms. "Does he feel like a demon to you?"
Silas narrowed his gaze as he stepped closer to Luc, and my heart pounded as I saw the calm expression on the hybrid's face. Had he managed to neutralize his powers in time? Would Silas be able to tell he was a hybrid? A look of confusion crossed the angel's face, and he only watched the hybrid with more scrutiny.
"What are you?" he almost hissed and Luc shrugged as he stood, filling me with both awe and pride. Luc would usually cower and hide under such attention, but he merely stood unmoving, like a tree in a forest. All at once powerful and enchanting, yet easy to walk by and overlook.
