Chapter 15 - The First Class

Next morning, Ron and Bob dressed in new clothes, joined Olivia, Gazelle, and Edwards at the breakfast table.

After finishing their meal, Ron and Bob followed Gazelle to the basement. Gazelle entered one of the rooms, appearing quite old. As she pointed her arms, the wall began to form a door, and Ron and Bob followed her through it.

"This feels pretty sus don't you think?" Bob asked Ron.

Going down the stairs, the three reached the basement, filled with dusty items.

"What are we doing down here?" asked Ron not knowing what is gonna happen.

Gazelle went into the middle of the room where there is a platform with an item that looked like rune which was used while the summoning circle.

As she touched it, everything in the room disappeared as if it was not even there.

"This is a kind of spatial magic, I formed a temporary dimensional space using this artifact right here" said Gazelle.

"Now, let's begin the first step" she said.

Gazelle then started explaining the basic stuff of magic.

"The amount of magic the person can you and hold depend on their body and they it's familiarity with magic".

Learning to control your mana is the first step in mastering magic," Gazelle said. "It takes time and practice to develop your magical abilities, but with dedication and hard work.

"Your body contains something known as magic vessel, are the channels through which magic flows in your body. The ability and the potent of the person depends on the amount of magic that circulates around the person's body".

"There are two types of mages, one is pure mage and while other is ethereal mage".

"Pure mages rely solely on their own internal magic, while ethereal mages draw upon external sources such as nature, spirits, or other magical beings. Some also have fusion magic which is formed by combination of two or more element. Each type has its strengths and weaknesses".

"When a person if able to combine all the four elements of the magic is when they create light magic".

"You both too are ethereal mages, yea well as long as you are hiding it," said Gazelle.

Ron and Bob listened intently, trying to absorb as much information as possible. "So, how do we start learning magic?" Ron asked eagerly.

Gazelle's expression grew solemn as she spoke of Holy Magic. "There is also Holy Magic, a rare and powerful form of magic granted by the god of light, Aerian. This magic is given to a blessed child who is born only once every 200 years," she explained.

Gazelle then recounted the tale of the last blessed one, Ethan, who fought against the dark lord that tried to summon the demon king into the world. "Ethan is the founder of the Norhaen empire," she said.

"Now comes the dark magic, while normal magic are known as surface magic, dark magic is called underground magic because of its potent and ability to affect other without even them knowing".

"Normal humans aren't born with it and can't weild then unless they make contact with a devil"

"Any questions?"

Ron started asking "What's the difference between a contracted dark mage and normal dark mage".

"Good question," said Gazelle.

"People from Abyssia are born with dark magic naturally, while contractors are the ones who are able to use it even though they don't have dark blood.

"However, using magic in such a way also possess a risk of corruption. You could slowly turn into a Litch and lose your mind if you are using too much magic from a devil. There are many tales of such cases but non so far seen".

"So, I'll be a Litch?" murmured Bob.

"Don't worry ask long as you don't use it too much, the black taker will purify it.

"Now let's begin the training part".

Gazelle made Ron and Bob sit on the ground and asked them to feel the magic flowing inside their body.

Ron could feel the same sense when they back when they were fighting of the Braches created by the wolf. The warm feeling flew from his heart to rest of his body.

Gazelle then told them that they were at the first class of magic, which was the lowest. She explained that mages are ranked based on their power, and as their power increases, their rank increases as well.

After just a minute of pumping magic, Ron started feeling tired and felt as if he had been holding his breath. Gazelle encouraged him to push himself harder, which caused him to feel nauseous and eventually vomit black tar mixed with blood.

"That's your impurity, now continue".

Bob soon pats out a lot of impurities but all of the were cleaned by Gazelle's fire magic.

Ron was now able to continuously cover his body with magic for three minutes before needing a break. Over the next four hours, the training continued, and as it progressed Ron could feel his body getting lighter yet more powerful with each time, he vomited out the stuff.

He started to sense the magic around the room.

.

"You are still on stage one" said Gazelle looking Ron and Bob were completely spent, their faces green with exhaustion and nausea.

Bob groaned. "I feel like I got run over by a herd of unicorns."

"Well, that's it for today. And do take a bath, it might help you feel much better," Gazelle laughed as she turned off the artifact.

Ron and Bob stumbled out of Gazelle's training room, their limbs feeling like jello from the intense magical workout. They practically crawled into their respective bath tubes, grateful for the hot water that soothed their aching muscles.

.

Ron took a deep breath as he exited his washroom and looked out the window. He saw Olivia playing with a cat outside.

"Well, guess I'll make a connection with the future level 8 mage."

He walked outside as he saw Olivia's beautiful green eyes reflecting from the sun.
