Chapter 18 - Look Forward 2

Two years passed, and now Ron and Bob were 10 years old.

"With this, your training is complete. I taught you everything I knew, the rest is up to you," said Gazelle with a smile.

Ron and Bob were almost at the peak of first class, and now both could use chantless magic. Gazelle taught all the offensive spells she knew for all four elements.

"Man, now we have to wait for the academy," said Bob.

"Yep," replied Ron.

Now that his training was complete, it was time for Ron to move forward with his next plan.

.

Under the cover of darkness, Ron quietly slipped out of his room with his bag in tow and informed Gazelle of his departure. Despite her insistence on consulting with Edward, Ron refused and instead leapt out of the window, using wind magic to cushion his landing.

"I seriously need to learn a flying spell," Ron muttered to himself as he made his way out of the mansion.

Once he reached the main town of Ravenwood, he checked his map before heading to the southern exit. Before he left, Gazelle gave him an emblem that allowed him to come and go from the town as he pleased. Now Ron was completely alone and on his own for the first time since he came to this world.

Determined to complete his mission of safely and stealthily acquiring the Dark Heart before the Umbras could claim it, Ron set out along the long road ahead.

As Ron made his way down the path, he came across a group of merchants traveling in a carriage who offered him a free ride. Despite their friendly offer, Ron declined, thinking to himself, "It's best not to trust strangers."

As night fell and rain began to pour, Ron found himself deep in the forest. Exhausted from his journey, he decided to take a break and rest for the night before continuing his mission.

"Now I have to keep watch for any monsters that might eat me while I sleep," Ron said to himself, as he settled down by the campfire, he had created using a wind blade to cut off a branch from a nearby tree.

As Ron sat by the fire, he listened carefully for any sounds in the darkness. The rain had turned into a steady drizzle, adding to the eerie atmosphere of the unknown forest.

Suddenly, he heard a rustling in the bushes. Ron stood up, gripping his wand tightly, and scanned the area. A pair of glowing eyes stared back at him from the shadows.

With a flick of his wand, Ron sent a blade of wind towards the creature, revealing it to be a small, harmless rabbit. He let out a sigh of relief and sat back down by the fire.

As he warmed his hands, Ron couldn't help but feel grateful for the enchanted scone he had packed earlier. With a single bite, it filled his stomach and gave him the energy he needed for the journey ahead.

Hours passed, and Ron remained vigilant, his senses on high alert for any sign of trouble. But as the night wore on, fatigue began to set in, and he found himself nodding off despite his best efforts to stay awake.

Finally, with the first light of dawn creeping over the horizon, Ron allowed himself to relax, knowing that he had made it through the night unscathed.

Next morning, Ron resumed his journey to the Vellehin Forest, knowing it would take him a full week to reach his destination. As he walked, the landscape around him was a vast grassland with no other living souls in sight, save for the occasional merchant or carriage passing by.

Ron kept a close eye on his compass and map, determined to stay on track. He knew that the Dark Heart he was seeking had been taken by the elves long ago because, since it was used by the dark lord, it had been deemed too dangerous or significant to be left in the wrong hands.

Over time, however, the number of people who knew about it had decreased, and elves eventually considered it nothing more than junk, unaware of its true importance.

As Ron continued his journey, he heard sounds emanating from the other side of the forest. Suddenly, green humanoid creatures emerged.

"Goblins" murmured Ron.

Goblin were short and green creatures.

One lunched towards him with its axe, Ron took out his wand and shot the wind blade towards it slicing off it into half.

The rest four then came forward and tried to attack him together. Ron now used fire magic and drew it out like a chain cutting off all them together in a split second.

"That was cool," said Ron, looking at his wand. He knew he had become more powerful, but his progress was faster than he expected. Earlier, he couldn't even shoot out a fireball, now, he could easily cast spells on all four elements.

However, Ron knew it wasn't enough.

Then came another goblin this one was huge; it was almost taller than Ron and was bulked up thrice size of him with a huge bone hammer on his hand.

The Hobgoblin growled as it lunged forward with its gaint slab to smash Ron into pieces.

"Wow never thought I would fight this so sooner".

Ron's heart raced as he dodged the Hobgoblin's attack, feeling the wind rush by. He slid under the creature's legs and sent a sharp wind blade at its head, but the Hobgoblin blocked with its club. In retaliation, it threw its club, missing Ron and hitting a nearby tree.

Ron quickly leaped onto a tree branch as the Hobgoblin picked up its club. It charged toward him, and with a mean look, swung its hammer. Ron, using air magic, soared through the air, shooting wind blades at the creature's head.

The Hobgoblin blocked with its club, but Ron didn't stop. He switched to earth magic, turning the ground into sticky mud. The Hobgoblin struggled, sinking deeper.

Without hesitation, Ron summoned a water ball, creating a powerful Hydro Burst. The explosion sent the Hobgoblin flying, barely hanging on to life.

Knowing he couldn't let the scent of the Hobgoblin's blood attract other goblins, Ron focused his fire magic and obliterated the creature's body and leaving behind only a sickening stench.

"Now I have to get out of here" said after he hastily collecting his bag from the ground, Ron sprinted away in an effort to escape.

He travelled for some time, eventually resorting to taking a shortcut through the dense forest when the road came to an end.

As he pressed on, he eventually stumbled upon a small village.
