I expected Mum to oppose everything to do with Lucia becoming the future Luna of the pack. Not just because she comes from a family alleged to have caused my brother's death, but also because of her humble background. If anything, Mum enjoys glamour that comes with being in the highest strata. Her preference for Dorin is because she happens to come from such high society.
Alpha Derius, Dorin's father, is the leader of a pack that is famous for its entrepreneurial prowess. He is rumoured to be owning a fleet of ships on the high seas in addition to owning a lucrative, multinational banking enterprise. While some people describe us as being wealthy, I must say that we can hardly measure up to Alpha Derius' stinking riches.
