As he was thinking all this, he heard a knock on the door.
"Your majesty, it is time for you to wake up and have breakfast.", said a very seasoned, polite and professional voice that belonged to an old man.
"I'm already awake. You can enter.", He said looking at the door.
"Pardon me, your majesty.", the old man said before gracefully opening the door and walking inside.
He was wearing a black tailcoat with a white shirt underneath it, with a bowtie on the collar. Black trousers and black shoes.
'He must be Arnold, my personal butler...'
"What would you like to wear, your majesty?"
"Something light and comfortable."
"I will be right back, your majesty."
After waiting for 2 minutes, Butler Arnold brought out a medieval-looking white shirt and black trousers, with black boots.
"Here, your clothes, your majesty."
"Keep them here, I'll come out once I wear them."
"As you command."
After Arnold left, Zagan got out of bed. He was shirtless and was wearing some pajama-like pants.
Any woman who would see this scene would get a nosebleed looking at Zagan. He's perfect.
He wore the clothes, and went outside to meet Arnold again.
"Lets go."
"Right away, your highness."
They walked through the overbearing and luxurious corridors of the Crimson Palace. Not a square-inch of the massive corridors were left empty. The walls were painted crimson red, while the floor was made of shimmering marble. The ceiling had countless chandeliers. The walls had different paintings and furniture on them, not one of them looked out of place. It was like the entire palace was a puzzle and every single brick and furniture had fallen into the perfect place.
'Breathtaking...', Leon thought.
The game's graphics already looked fantastic, but seeing the crimson palace's corridors with his own eyes in first person was absolutely breathtaking.
Even though Leon was blown away by the sheer beauty and complexity of the corridors, his stoic expression didn't even show a hint of any of those emotions.
"We are here, your highness.", Arnold interrupted Leon's thoughts as they had reached a 10ft tall door made of dark oak wood and had the flags of the Asherion Empire hanging from the top.
Arnold pushed the door and it revealed another mesmerizing room. This one was even more luxurious than the one Zagan woke up in. There was a gigantic table in the middle of the room made completely out of white marble, with 8 dark oak wooden chairs with crimson-colored cushions on its sides.
There were 4 people sitting around the table. Each and every one of them looked so good, that if you saw them suddenly after waking up, you'd think you had died and gone to heaven, and they were angels sent to save your soul.
Two men and two women. One of the men was Zagan's father, and the current emperor of the Asherion Empire, Lucious Von Asherion. The other was Zagan's elder brother, Julian Von Asherion.
Both of them had Blonde hair and Crimson Eyes. Zagan was the only one who didn't have Crimson-colored eyes. His eyes were Crystal-blue, the same color as his mother.
His mother was probably one of the most beautiful women in the whole world, Evangeline Von Asherion Bladeheart. With Platinum-colored hair, and Crystal-blue eyes, her face looked like an angel's. Her body was perfect, with all the right curves and beautifully voluptuous breasts.
The other woman was Zagan's younger sister, Sophia Von Asherion. She looked almost as beautiful as her mother, but still didn't quite catch up to her.
"Good morning, dear Zagan", it was Evangeline who spoke up and welcomed Zagan.
"Good morning.", he replied with that same monotone voice. He didn't even utter the words 'dear mother'.
Evangeline looked a bit sad, but she was already used to this indifferent behavior of her own son, so she just continued eating her food.
Zagan then walked up to the chair closest to him and started eating the extravagant, but healthy breakfast.
That was the first day Leon actually enjoyed eating vegetables.
"Dearest Brother Zagan, How far did you reach in magecraft?", asked Sophia, looking at Zagan enthusiastically.
"Fourth Circle.", Zagan replied without even looking at her.
"WOW! That's amazing, brother! you already reached 4th circle! You're a genius!", she kept talking.
"Eat your food before it gets cold.", this time Julian spoke up, looking at Sophia.
"Mmmmhp, fine!", Sophia pouted a bit, but soon complied.
"But that really is impressive, Brother Zagan.", Julian said, looking at Zagan's direction.
"Its not enough.", Zagan replied again without even looking at them.
The reason he wasn't looking at them, was simple. He viewed them as nothing more than obstacles. Obstacles to trample over and destroy to reach his ultimate goal of claiming the throne and becoming stronger than them.
The reason for this was also quite simple. When he was born, he was seen as an unwanted child. Even though his mother wanted to give him as much love as she possibly could, she couldn't, because of the Emperor. Zagan was an accident. The emperor had no plan to give birth to 2 boys. Infact, Zagan was still alive was because Evangeline had threatened to kill herself if Lucious had harmed the infant Zagan.
Even though he survived, Zagan had a very tough childhood. Not receiving any fatherly care was one of the reasons. Other reasons were that he got almost no attention from anyone. Not even the servants, because the Emperor didn't give them any orders to look after Zagan. Evangeline had work to do, as she was an Empress, so she didn't get to spend much time with Zagan too.
He would get sick very often, as no one checked what he was eating, and even then, no one would care for him, apart from a few servants who pitied him. But soon, even that pity vanished. Zagan had to teach himself about health and he learnt what not to eat and what to eat by himself, after countless trails and errors.
After suffering for years and years, Zagan became extremely cold-hearted. He found out that he was blessed by mana and kept practicing magic to get stronger. He promised himself that he would never ever back down from any challenge, and he would definitely get his revenge.
'You brought me into this world, and you couldn't even be bothered to take responsibility for it?! I'll show you... I'll trample on all of you escapists!!', Zagan promised himself.
'But Zagan didn't know that his mother almost sacrificed herself for his sake... Well, now he does because of me... I read the entire story of Zagan and all of the other bosses and NPC's too, cause I was too bored at the time...', Leon thought to himself.
He felt his heart ache a little after realizing how much he had hurt his mother over the years.
But he didn't feel like apologizing would help. He was a man of action, so he would repay her debt someday in the future.
