"The world... Is dead." The soldier said.
I can finally understand everything now. The last game that was running before I died was named something like that. It was an open world zombie survival game where you can explore places and roam where you want to. As per the reports, it was supposedly the biggest game to come out in the last 10 years, with a big map and different characters.
And it seems that somehow, after my death, I woke up as the player in this game. This also explains the window that appeared before.
I became excited. I always wanted to experience a zombie apocalypse. Me and my friends even planned what would happen if a zombie invasion actually happened. It is a man's dream to be in a world where these dead corpses are roaming around!
However, for as happy as I was, I realized something. Because I am dead, I can't see them anymore.... My family. My mom, dad, and my friends. I can't talk to them or play with them anymore. It actually is happening. I have lost everything I had. My dreams, my hopes, my love... Everything, gone. All I have now is, a memory. Their last, remaining piece in my life. That last time I talked to them, laughed with them. It is never gonna happen ever again, is it?
(As Ace silently sat, a tear fell from his eyes. His throat felt choked with emotions. A soldier notices this and tries to comfort him.)
"Hey there boy. I know it's hard to know that the world is falling apart. But don't worry. Be strong. You can survive anything if you are willing enough to." A soldier said while tapping my shoulder.

(Forty three minutes later.)
The helicopter was flying for nearly an hour now. In the meantime, I learnt that the pilot was on his job for the last 18 hours. And since the pandemic began, he hasn't rested yet. "I want to help as many people as I can." He says.
Things were going rather too smoothly for the last 40 or so minutes. And I was getting a little weird for the reason. I felt something bad was gonna happen. And unfortunately, my feelings were justified.
The weather during the flight was not very good. It was a thunderstorm. Which I believe was the reason that the sky was so gray when I got out of the cafeteria. And also why the winds were blowing. It was about to rain, and I guess a thunderstorm started after I got in the helicopter.
And while we were still in the sky, a lightning strike hit the blades of the helicopter.
All the four people (me, the pilot and two other soldiers) inside the helicopter were shook. One of the soldiers asked the pilot in panic - "What's happening?! Is everything okay?!"
"...." The pilot said nothing. He was breathing heavily, and the expressions on his face said everything.
"The blades are damaged and have caught fire," He whispered with a shaky voice. "We... We are crashing!"
