"Ariana!" Nicki screamed happily and paused in her tracks, waiting for Ari to turn to see her and scream too.
"Nicki?" Ariana blinked twice to make sure she was seeing clearly. Where did Nicki come from? And waving at her so excitedly? She was pretty sure they had been to every nook and cranny of the academy to find her and wasn't able to.
So where did she come from now?
She watched Nicki from the little distance they were from each other as she began to come to her. And the moment Nicki was close enough, she threw herself on Ariana. "I'm supposed to be sad, Ari, but I'm not. Today's one of my happiest days ever since I arrived here"
Nicki separated from the hug while Ariana was still dumbfounded for a minute, she was bewildered and couldn't find the right words to put together to say to Nicki. Where does she start in warning her that her guides were going to murder her when they got their hands on her?
