Chapter 15 - She Could Be In Trouble.

Guides aren't meant to bow together with students in the Alpha's presence. It wasn't something appropriate to do due to their status and profession. They are way past that level, only students are meant to keep their heads bowed until the Alpha agrees to let them up.

Hanna and Astrid quit their senseless arguing and quickly ran over to the Alpha's side the moment his presence was announced in the hall. They both bowed simultaneously in front of him and then moved to stand beside him along with the other guides standing behind.

The Alpha lifted his hand and a certain person who was like his mouthpiece, the same person that had first announced him when he was coming in here ordered all the students to lift their heads again.

"Oh, thank God!" Nicki exclaimed inwardly, it was as if the Alpha knew she wasn't a fan of the daily and regular bowing of the head each time he shows up here and decided to let them up earlier this time.

The Alpha then looked around the hall in silence, his eyes searching for one particular soul and it stopped when his eyes finally fell on her. Satisfied with what he saw, he got up from the throne that was made and specifically kept for him to rest in and started walking out of the hall.

Hunting wears him out most times but it was still his favorite sport. That's why he goes hunting every single day of his life, the only time he doesn't go is if matters suddenly popped out of nowhere.

The moment he was out of the hall completely and the door was shut, the once silent dread-filled hall became so noisy again as everyone went back to what they were doing before the Alpha showed up.

Nicki, who was now left with no guides, had no idea what to do with the killer blade Astrid left in her hand. However, she knew she couldn't stay idle doing nothing and like the smart ass, she was. She decided to try out some of the skills she was watching most of the students here doing and started to swing the knife.

Despite having no idea of what she was doing, Nicki had a smile on her face and was happy the blade was moving like she wanted it to, her eyes were on a particular student that caught her interest with his amazing skills.

She was doing almost perfectly like him or so she thought before she unintentionally cut her arm with the blade in the process of turning around and doing a certain skill the guy she was copying from did.

"Ouch, f**k!" Nicki yelled in pain at the sight of the small cut on her arm, she had no idea how the blade was able to cut her because she was extremely careful with it. Astrid was right when she said the blade was simple but utterly deadly.

With her fear of the weapon returning, Nicki dropped the blade to the ground and wiped off the blood that ran down her arm. Surprisingly, while trying to tear a small part of her uniform she would use to stop her arm from bleeding, the wound had already healed up.

And Nicki was left dumbfounded at the moment before it took her a couple of minutes to realize she was now a werewolf. They have fast healing abilities, right? She smiled, recalling all the supernatural abilities she was supposed to have now, including remarkable speed. She was quite sure she could outrun Usain Bolt now.

The cut was gone, neat and clean without any scar. But it wasn't going to make Nicki go back to using the blade again and so she went to drop it from where she saw Astrid got it earlier.

What was she going to do now? Everyone else was still busy with the training. What time is it even going to end? Or would they keep on training endlessly throughout the day? It must be crazy to think she was going to spend her whole day like this.

With that thought still in mind, Nicki had no other option than to sneak away from the hall. Not a single soul here appears to be aware of her presence, which would make her sneak out of here easier than anything.

Carefully walking and dodging both people and the weapons that came flying her way, Nicki was able to make it out of the hall center where everyone was training. She sighed happily, but was a bit baffled how the weapons that slip off some people's hand during training only ends up coming her way, or was she just magnetic to them?

Doesn't anyone get hurt here at all or something? Nicki didn't worry much about this since everyone looks and acts robotic. As if they are only meant to do what they are told and they just do it simply without complaining.

"Well, I'm out of here. Adios weirdos except for Ariana of course" Nicki waved and turned to push the door open and leave. However, she was stopped by a girl who out of nowhere without warning stood right in front of her and made her heart almost drop out of her chest.

"Oh my God, don't ever do that again" Nicki held her chest, looking like a thief that was caught red-handed stealing. Who was this getting in her way of escaping from the set of weirdos she was surrounded with? Perhaps another weirdo that plans on escaping like she was about to?

"You, where do you think you are going?" The girl asked, pointing directly at Nicki's face as if to intimidate her or something.

Nicki would have almost succumbed to the intimidation but stared down at the uniform the girl was putting on. And she swiftly knew the girl wasn't a guide or maybe even something more superior to that.

"Uhm…do I know you from somewhere? Or perhaps you are the one who knows me?" She innocently asked, returning the girl's question with a question. She can't let her know her plan of escape from the hall. What if she snitches on her and gets her into trouble?

"You don't return questions with questions here, you dummy. Haven't you been taught that?" The girl pushed Nicki's head back with the tip of her finger up to two times and was about to complete it with the third one when Nicki grabbed her finger and almost broke it.

"And you don't get to call me dummy or do that to me either" She let go of the girl's finger with a warning, but she didn't really want to till she heard the sound of something crack and guessed she must have held the finger too tight.

"Gosh, what are you? You almost broke my finger" The girl held her finger tightly and carefully not to cause more damage to the one that was done already and as if it would fall off if she didn't.

"I'm sorry" Nicki apologized, despite not feeling like she should. She was the one who was wronged by the girl first.

"Hey you two, what are you guys doing over there?!" Someone yelled at Nicki and the troublesome girl and they both groaned. But it was different for Nicki, who could have just ignored the girl and left. Now, she could be in trouble, the one thing she worked her butt off not to get into again.
