Chapter 1 - The life of Scavenger

It had been five long years since Jin's parents had died in the war against the monsters.

They were both A-Rank Space ability Soldiers, and the family had lived on a small spacecraft since Jin's birth. One day, when Jin was just ten years old, his parents did not return from their mission.

Jin watched the news in the cockpit and saw the tragic report: platoon 364 of the Jupiter Mission had been wiped out by a rare ghost monster, and his parents were part of that platoon. The government declared them dead, but their bodies were never found.

Now, Jupiter had been reclaimed and terraformed, and only the rich could afford to live there.

Jin received a small pension of 1000 Small Magic crystals, equivalent to 10 High Crystal, from the government.

However, the pension stopped a year ago when they discovered that Jin was unable to use Aura or awaken any ability.

He was labeled as a "Space Beggar" and "Legendary TRASH" who had been unable to awaken since birth.

Both of his parents had been A-Rank SAS, and here Jin was, unable to do anything, you can Awaken Aura and Ability anytime even baby can awaken.

It had been a year since Jin had started being a scavenger and scavenging in space, and sometimes he came across space monsters and space portals.

The SAS would come to solve these issues, but Jin was just a beggar and unable to help. The SAS earned a lot of money, and Jin dreamed of becoming one of them, but he knew it was impossible.

All he could do was scavenge trash to sell on Solarium Station, an artificial planet for those who wanted to sell and buy items. and apply for Jobs. Jin only earned enough money to survive for a day, and he had to pay an entrance fee of 5 small magic crystals to enter the planet.

Entering Earth or any other planet was just a dream of Jin's, as the entrance fee for Earth alone was 1000 High Magic Crystals or 100,000 Small Magic Crystals.

Jin only had 5 small magic crystals to spend for the entrance fee because he saving to enter Earth to find clue about his parents disappearance and a 30 SMC worth of trash that he scavenged all day around the solar system. It was only enough for food and energy-source for a day.

The organization responsible for maintaining order and managing superhumans is known as the

[ New Government ], with the Awakener Defense Force (ADF) as its main branch. Under the ADF are various specialized units, such as the Intra-Portal Management Forces (IPMF) who manage portals inside planets, and the Interdimensional Control Force (ICF) who handle portals in space.

The ADF also has Special Ability Soldiers and Special Aura Soldiers, deployed inside the planet to fight monsters and destroy portals and the Space Ability Soldier and Space Aura Soldier who fights monsters and destroy portals in space.

[ Mercenaries ] are people who do not wish to be bound by the government and are managed by private agencies like clans and guilds.

There are two types of superhumans,

[ Ability Users ] and [ Aura Users. ]

[ Ability Users ] are people who awaken a special ability or profession, such as craftsmanship, magician, swordsmanship, or marksmanship. With the help of advanced technology, they can track their progress and status using a system similar to those found in games.

Ability Users are divided into several classes, with the S-Class being the highest, followed by A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, and F-Class as the lowest.

[ Aura Users], on the other hand, are people who awaken the power of aura to enhance their physical abilities.

There are different ranks of Aura Users, starting from the lowest, Human Rank, where individuals have twice the strength and durability of a regular human.

The other ranks are D Rank, C Rank, B Rank, A Rank, S Rank, and Legendary Rank (LR), which is the highest and reserved for those with unparalleled power and skill.

[ Dual Users ], a rare group of Ability Users who have awakened both the power of aura and their special ability.

Finally, there is the L-Class, a legendary Awakener who is rumored to be the first person to awaken the power of portals, possess an ability, and can use aura.

According to history, he built sanctuaries to save humanity and established the awakening system to help people survive and counterattack. However, his whereabouts are unknown, and some experts believe that he is just a myth.

"I am now entering Solarium Station, a bustling hub where magic crystals are exchanged, and items can be bought and sold, and job applications can be submitted.

After spending 24 hours scavenging, I have only managed to collect 30 SMC worth of trash, barely enough to sustain me with food and gas"

"Can you show me your ID Card sir?" a Solarium Guard request.

"Sure, here's my card," I reply. An ID Card is a virtual identification issued by the New Government to maintain order and track down space criminals. It has a seal made by magic craftsmen.

"All cleared, you can now pay the fee," the guard informs me.

"Thank you," I say as I scan the barcode to pay. You can exchange your magic crystals into virtual currency, making it more secure to carry around in space.

I head to the parking space to park my spacecraft, still contemplating whether to search for clues about my parents' disappearance on Earth.

However, earning magic crystals is a challenge for me, as I cannot apply for jobs related to space exploration or hunting monsters without awakening my aura or any ability. The only thing I can do is scavenge trash.

"Hello Mr. Harold! It's me, Jin," I greet Mister Harold, the only person in Solarium Station who has been kind to me.

"Oh, Jin! Here you are, are you selling things again?" he asks.

"Yes, Mister. Unfortunately, I only have scrap and some monster skins. I hope they have some value. Can you appraise them?" I reply.

"Sure, sure! Oh, not good. These monster skins are too damaged, and these items are just from a spacecraft. I can give you 40 SMC. What do you think?" he offers.

As expected, Mr. Harold is a good person. He even adds 10 SMC. I vow to pay his kindness back a hundredfold one day.

"Sure, thank you very much, Mr. Harold!" I say.

"No problem," he replies.

"I will now go and try to find a job at SEA," I say. (SEA- Space Exploration Agency)

"Take care! Come back again, kid!" he waves me goodbye.

I walk around the marketplace, hoping to find something valuable to resell, but I am not lucky enough to find anything.

[I can only buy my necessities and energy source for my spacecraft, which is made of magic crystals, the new type of energy used by humanity that does not produce any pollution.

As I walked through the market, I thought about my plan to buy a week's worth of food and energy source, and then scavenge the solar system in hopes of finding something valuable this time.

But before that, I decided to check the mission board at the SEA in hopes of finding an easy job as a scavenger.

As I entered the building, people started staring at me and whispering about me, calling me "Legendary Trash" and making fun of me for being unable to awaken any abilities since birth, despite my parents being A-Rank SAS. I ignored their comments and went straight to the mission board.

"Nothing new, just another hunting job," I sighed to myself. "I'll buy what I need and head back to my ship."

So, I made my way to the market to purchase the necessary food and energy source.

"Excuse me, sir, I want to buy seven blocks of energy source," I said to the vendor.

"Sure thing, that will be 140 SMC," he replied.

I scanned the barcode and paid for it.

Finally, I headed to my ship, feeling disheartened that I only had 40 SMC left.

I wondered how I would even be able to enter Earth in my current situation.

"I miss you, Mom and Dad," I said as I gazed up at the sky. "I hope this trip will be fruitful."
